  8. Tired as in sleepy, or tired as in not enjoying it after a certain period?

I drive professionally, and I have recently started listening to AM radio, to keep my brain engaged.

FM radio has better clarity, but I don't enjoy hearing the same old 40 songs one after the other...

Also, with AM is the ability to listen to intelligent discussions rather than some DJ just rambling on about some up coming concert (that I generally do not have time to go to anyway...)

My favorite show at night is Coast To Coast AM, they have some really good discussions and topics.

For my commute in to work I listen to Sirius radio.

  9. Yes.    Take a break.    Park and walk around,   a short nap,   walk the dog.

  10. nooo lol

  11. Yeah, if i get bored I'll crank up some upbeat music, crack a window, or drink some water.  For some reason that usually makes me focus better. But if you feel yourself getting really tired when driving its always better to be safe than sorry. Pull off the road and take a mini-nap.

  12. All those twats who sit in the centre lane p**s me right off, and are these the same people who have to drive on main beam.

  13. Yeah- especially so for long trips solo. It can be dangerous if you are bored and/or sleepy. Buy or check out some books on CD/tape at your local library, or take someone with you to occupy your time. Don't talk on your cell, though!

  21. Well, I'm a Driving Instructor.........to be one, you must enjoy being in a vehicle for hours, explaining things to people (which keeps my attention on driving), and being one step ahead of my student You must also have a lot of patience and understanding for the human condition....fear, anxiety, stress in my students.....In general, I find driving quite relaxing, and when Im alone and behind the wheel, I usually listen to something educational to stimulate my mind as I drive along the highways. I've learned a lot via the University of the Airwaves over these past 45 years or so. If I've had a long and tiring day, I will drive home with my fan blowing cooler air, put some eyedrops in my eyes, turn up the radio, turn up the radio with some lively music,  drink coffee or cola, chew gum, and keep my eyes moving.......if I find myself staring and forcing myself to keep my eyes open, I'll pull over and take a snooze.

If you are a driver who doesn't usually spend a lot of time behind the wheel, and on a long roadtrip, take a break as often as you need -  stretch, walk around and smell the roses........I love taking my dog with me because it makes me stop and take a walk every couple of hours when on a long trip..........get off the road when the sun is in your eyes (sunset), take a walk or a swim, and check into a motel or campsite around 4 p.m. or so, you'll wind down, sleep well, and be ready for your next day's trip.

If you have planned a trip and aren't feeling well, it's best to cancel or postpone it because you really need to focus on your driving..........after all..........you are the captain of your ship!

  22. No, i love driving... everytime some says to go somewhere i'm like lets take my car... but then again everyone gives me gas money... so i dont mind driving people around haha.
