Weekend
by C.S. Scotkin
Wednesday in the real world
It’s my Friday, though.
Two days of rest await me,
I won’t rest, you know.
Laundry waits in hamper;
cat box to be cleaned.
Vaccum dust with Gracie,
think of lessons gleaned.
Open suitcase, try to choose
what will serve me best
elegant blue ballgown,
comfortable red dress.
So I wish upon the stars
coming out tonight,
I never went to Mars before,
have to get it right.
