  1. I remember watching something on TV with my son - might have been Brainiac? - and they tested this theory.  They got wetter whilst running.

  2. This question has been around for more ages than you can imagine and no one has come up with a good answer even Myth Busters. It all depends on the concentration of the rain and the wind and how fast you run.

  3. Some 'scientists' actually did a study on this (I can't believe they wasted their time).

This study showed that you will get very slightly wetter when walking than when running, so I guess standing still is slightly less wetter again...

  4. This was done on Mythbusters then revisited in episode 38. The link is below for your delectation.

  5. I would say that its swings and roundabouts.. depends on the way the wind is blowing i would say.... If the you are running into the wind you are more than likly going to get wet faster ( i would think ) but who knows....... nice question

  6. Theres's a Mythbusters episode that answers this....I can't remember what the conclusion was though.

  7. Wetter running into the wind, less wet running downwind. The stronger the wind, the more difference it makes. The further you need to run, and the harder it's raining, the less difference it makes.

  8. Bloody good question...I've always wanted to know that too!!!

I always seem wetter if i've run in the rain!

I'm keeping an eye on this question/answers!!

  9. I think it is the same.

    I got soaked today.

Dublin.... four seasons in one day.

Sun, rain, hailstones and snow. Usual day on the beach :-)

  10. This is so funny, my husband thinks that if you run in the rain you get wetter quicker! I only mentioned this the other day, I believe it doesn't make any differance!

  11. What an interesting question....I have no scientific answer, but I would have thought that if you were running you would get wetter. I have no idea why, just my theory.

  12. If you run for cover, then you not be as wet as standing in the rain.

  13. well.. if you're standing still you get wetter as you are constantly being rained on, yet if you run you find cover

lol i understand what you mean.. it really depends on the direction of the rain, if its just straight down then running is wetter as you have a bigger surface area

  14. wetter running, you forget the water you kick up all over your backside

  15. well i think when you running you get wetter.

i was doing cross country the other day when it was thunder and lightning and rtaining. iwas waiting and i wasn't that wet. then when i ran, I was facing into the wind at first and got wet and then turned at the track and was then facing away. It depeneds whether your facing the wind or not.

  16. yes you get wetter
