Do you give a tip if...?

Do you give a tip if you go to a chinese buffet? You get the food yourself, get the drinks yourself. All they do is take away the plates. And if you do tip, how much percentage wise.

If anything I would say between $1-$2 if you wanted to. They are not a waitress/waiter. They are bus boys and they would get paid regular minimum wage. You are getting the food AND the drinks by yourself. I would say if they were refilling your drinks definitely leave a tip because then they are waitresses. I go to Cici's all the time where it's just like the Chinese buffet you described and only 1 time that I went there did I ever see someone leave a tip for clearing the table.

The waiters are probably really underpaid and need the money. So even if thats all they do you should still leave a few bucks.

Yeah, I usually leave a couple of bucks and depending on how many people there are we all throw in a buck..

anytime i go to a "buffet" style restaurant, i leave a dollar or two depending on what they have to do. Most of them here, bring your drinks and then clean your table so i make sure to at least leave a couple of bucks for the drinks and the buss boy.

my parents always give a short tip of $5 dollars just to appericate the food even though they are waitresses.
