    please answer mine?http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  2. i give up after i start and i hate to be despair or feel hopeless but sometimes i just am!:(

  3. I have a tendency to want to give up before I start something, primarily because I think I can't complete it or won't enjoy it. I worry about the matter, mulling it over in my head...preparing to do whatever it is I think I might do. Still, I hold myself out of a full commitment. Then, once I start the project, etc., I go at it full force.

  4. It's called laziness. No, I've never been afflicted by it.

  5. It's not that honest. I am really good at arranging obstacles that prevent me from working on accomplishing the goal.

  6. Never

I have always done what i am supposed to do. Never thought about giving up

  7. I think you should try and remind yourself on a note to try and go towards the goal, and when you are about to give up, force yourself to do it anyway...   I am a giver upper too...

It works for me for like a week until I end up getting busy and something distracts me from it.

  8. ...NO!!!

...i kick the door down, when given an assignment...

  9. I have surely been through this phase.

It is fear of failure that prevents us from even trying for what we want. The fear of failure may be due to past failures, but more importantly, it is another dimension of ego. Our ego dictates that we must succeed, because it is unable to reconcile with any erosion of pride due to possible failure.

The best way to get over this problem, in my view, would be to remind oneself that failure is the pillar of success and those who ridicule others for any failure are themselves not perfect. In other words, once we know that none can escape failure for ever, we would not hold others in unnecessary awe and learn to take their adverse comments, if any, about ourselves with the pinch of salt it deserves. In a nutshell, what would happen is that we would accept our failure and know others also can fail and thereby failure would not look so dauntingly scary...... failure would then seem to be an ordinary normal event. Our fear of failure would then dissipate.

  10. I was not exactly the same, but was just as disappointing. I set goals and schedules but could not follow up anything strictly.

I have bunch of notebooks (bought and received from friends) but could not ultilize one.

I am still trying to follow my goal : being organized. I just started the first job 2 months ago. This encourages me a lot to focus on the goal.

How did I get over? I forgave myself... :) sounds weird, but I did so many times. :)

  11. To  certain extent but i keep it at the back of my mind.

    Thanks for asking

  12. no i try to make an effort no matter how hard it may be..

  13. Of COS, do u think u can win bad government dogs who messed whole F life? I give up and move on. Not even u can help me out. hahaahha...and everyone scare of government dogs nasty doing. i know i am the dog prey.

otherwise why would these dogs steal all my hardwork all the times and left me with a 0 cent to survive? do u know why? :P

Ego is c**p and ego is used by those on top of u so that they can suppress u as long as they can before u can out win them. Have u heard the great inventor edison talking about EGO? imao NO because these are the pple who dunno what is failure only a successful dog pple alway used it to lower u down all the times.

Thought I accomlished answering your question.

Then I realised it wasn't that simple. Since I have started something, I must finish it. Give me some time I'm thinking.

  15. never i have never do that before and i won't do it anyway!ever if i louse!

    good day!

  16. You think of other people who have done way harder things and successfully completed them. Then you tell yourself they are not necessarily better or smarter than you. They just "got it done".  Always remind yourself: Once you get past yourself, you can do anything....

  17. Hi..

As for me, When I set up my mind and my heart to a certain goal..I don't give up 'til the last drip of my sweat in my effort. I have a self pressuring character when I am challenged and I truly want to do it. My mind is going to bug me until I get it finished. Sometimes I tend to be bold in my persuasions..During the past most specially. When I had a work that involves business in dealing with different kinds of people. Even if I am really timid. I change my image as fast as it should be..Then after my work I am back to the shy old me again. Because sometimes my work just doesn't seem to fit my real character. So it is like I am having different faces in my job I am forward and bold. But in my private life I am truly shy. Even until now..

So nevertheless, I will do what should be done when my heart is set up into a certain goal. Until it's finally accomplished.

  18. I had been guilty of that a lot. Better now but definitely not perfect. I used to think that detailed plans, objectives, goals and the like were for the mega business empire builders.

But amazing as it seems goal setters, with all other things being equal, seem to achieve more than those than don't. And you can be an ordinary person.

So instead of failing by not even starting I break the main goal into numerous sub-goals. Then break down the sub-goals further into SMART objectives.

SMART Definitons vary but these are most often used:-

    SSpecific

    M Measurable

    A Achievable

    R Relevant

    T Time-bound

Using the time-bound dates, a schedule can then be formed.

The problem then is how to stay motivated. Well then I give myself yet more minor but informal goals - ones than relate to weeks, days even hourly ones. The more modest (to begin with) the better. Once I start achieving the minor ones that gives me confidence and additional motivation to get moving faster. Then I up the game.

I try not to rely on a traditional to-do list. Those "things to do" are fine to see WHAT you need to do. But to keep me going  I have a task list as well. That is those tangible PRACTICAL steps I need to take to accomplish a single item on my to-do list. Mark that item as complete. Rinse. Repeat.

If I am really in the doldrums about something I try SMARTER like SMART except add Engaging and Rewarding (most common defintions.) You can use Engaging as a 'punishment' in not getting a task or goal done and Rewarding as something nice for yourself in getting there.

I sometimes try to get a goal buddy - someone I trust so I can give them a summary of accomplishments to. Amazing how the mind focuses when you have someone else to hold you to account.

One more thing give yourself a break. Literally - frequent short breaks actually help you get to where you are going, on balance, better than infrequent long breaks. Just watch that the time doesn't go too much towards breaks. Time yourself if need be!
