It has been pointed out to me that I wear alott of green (I didn't notice). I was shocked when I realized how many green shirts I own (different shades). It got me thinking before this apparent green phase I went through a black phase, before that it was blues. I looked at some old pitures an realized I go through different color phases that last bettween 2 to 5 years. I also noticed that I don't feel so comfortable with colors I was once attracted to. Dose anybody else notice this about yourself? What attracts us to certain colors?

  1. No.

  2. No I do not

  3. Sure, I go through color phases all the time -- but they seem to last about a year or so.

I find when I'm depressed, I buy a lot of black, and of course if I am depressed about being overweight, I certainly buy a lot of black to look slimmer.

However, if I am in love, or if my career is going fairly well, I tend to buy a lot of pink and red.

I don't know what attracts us to certain colors; maybe if we buy a color and wear it and a lot of people compliment us, we buy more of that color.

I have to say, though, I have never had a 'green' phase. Maybe that color just doesn't look all that good on me, I don't know!  However, I have been through black, pink, red, purple, and yellow phases.

  4. Yes.

My skin actually goes through color phases.

My winter phase is light yellow to gold.

My summer phase is deep gold to deep copper.

  5. Yes, I've been through that a number of times in my life.  I remember in high school I wouldn't have been caught dead in any shade of pink.  Then in college I sudddenly started buying pink dresses, pink shirts, pink makeup; over half my closet was pink.  I also went through a phase of metallic-type colors, like I wanted clothes with gold, silver, copper on them; and I've been through a stage where I wore a lot of unusual shades (at least for me), like burnt orange, olive green, mustard yellow.  I'm kind of dull now.  I have 2 young kids, so I don't pay much attention to what I'm wearing as far as colors; it's just whatever I can snatch up at yard sales.

  6. To be honest i dont think i've gone through phases where I would WEAR different colors, but i do notice that my favorite colors have changed. Like 8 years ago it was blue, 3 or 4 years ago it was green, and now i like red. and i didnt really notice when it changed.  so i do think that there are phases of colors :-D

  7. Yes. I want to become a painter and colors are very important to me. I did have a blue period and then a orange one. Afterwards, I started painting dark images with surrealist and mythological themes. Now in a kind of balanced color period and my images tend to be more abstract.
