Do you go to reunions cheerfully?

Reunion Time

“We are pleased to announce…”

Let us gather and reminisce

about the lies told way back then…

and the lies even larger now!

But before we go…a review,

of body, of style, of status too.

Some tanning, dieting, yes and yes.

at least the ladies can use the Spanx!

As date nears… the final hours,

old yearbooks searched, perused.

Refreshers of who and when,

Sherlock clues for features now!

Why I agreed, I will never know…

hopefully penance will gain me points,

cause the credit card says I owe a thousand

and the Cadillac rental… due tomorrow!

“Hello friends, I ‘missed’… you much!”

(memo to self: I don’t do reunions!)

  1. There is much truth in your words!

I don't do reunions either, although there are 2 friends from high school I still keep in touch with.

  2. I don't know how you are able to contain yourself when you write of such things. If I tried this, mine would be all mean and hurtful and a little too emotionally honest, and would come off sounding like a rant with a bad sense of humor.

I most definitely do not do reunions--of any kind.

  3. Dare to be different, here I am, both my husband and I loved them!

I speak of H.S. reunions. Small town might make the difference,

We hosted many before and next A.M. party's for many years.

Yet, since he died I donot attend, Classes get smaller as time goes by, Too many passed on or too ill to attend.

Be surprised in the prime more out of state attended then locals, which was a pet peeve of my husband's. especially one of his closer bud's, who did not do re-unions, they circled round and round about that issue. I don't know how I'd feel about college re-unions.

    Neat poem, people do differ.

  4. I don't do reunions, and now I know why...what a great write!

  5. Last weekend I saw from a distance, a person I used to live with in 1992. She had changed and had a young son. I didn't say hello because I didn't want to go backwards. Is that a wrong attitude?  Sometimes I think not. Reunions drag up stuff that have a historical relevance and that is all they have. It's ok to not "do" reunions. Top poem Neon.

  6. My skin horripilates at the very thought of a reunion. Well put.

( Spellthick wanted to change that to hotplates! I think I just wet myself LOL.)

  7. I don't do reunions either.

    Very well done.

    Reunions, ugh!

  8. Last month I had a 30 year reunion with 7 friends.  What a hoot.

  9. I don't do reunions either, but I read and enjoy poetry about reunions, whether with lost pets or lost friends.
