Do you got any tips for car washing?

Question

My friend and I want to earn some money this summer, so we are going to wash cars.

We are going to wash the car from the inside and the outside, clean the carpets and vacuum the inside for 40 NIS (which is like 11.2 USD), or clean only the outside or inside for 25 NIS (7 USD).

Does anyone got tips for advertising, stuff we should buy first, how to wash in the best way, etc.?

By the way: We want to go from door to door and ask people if they need their car washed. What do you say? Do you think it's a good idea, or have a better one?

For washing a car i used to buy the cheap stuff but found that it leaves spots on the windows.  Bought zipwax carwash for the first time and it claims to not leave spots when it dries.  It proved true! Did a fantastic job! You can buy those longhandled car wash brushes which gets the job done really fast.  Buy a shopvac to vacuum inside and armor all for shining up the interior.  Try doing a car wash in a local very seen place and have a friend hold up signs...im sure youve seen that before and maybe to each customer leave them a card for your business.  Hope that helps!

I think it is a great idea, and only wish that you lived around here!

Also, your prices are low, and you should be able to make some

great money when all is said and done!

First off, you should maybe print some fliers, or even some post it

notes with your phone number and info if possible, for people who

are not at home, or not able to take the offer right at that moment.

Next, you need to have a cleaning kit that contains all your items

you'll need to complete the job, along with lots of rags/both for

washing and drying, You should also but some fragrant rug

deodorizer with a brush to use on carpeting after vacuuming,

though that is not essential. (only a nice easy touch!)

As far as the best way to wash, you should discuss with your

friend beforehand, which one will do what each job, so you will

save time and kind of get a system going that will work quickly.



Remember to do your best, so people will want you to come

back again, and soon, you will have a self made business going!

Remember the post it notes or some sort of cards made up

with your info if you want to continue doing this on a steady

basis, and ..........Good Luck!

Be sure to wash and dry in the shade, as sun will make the soap streak.  Use car soap (dish soap is bad for the car's finish) for washing and a chamois cloth for drying.  Use a shop vac for vacuuming the inside.

As far as your prices, for US it's very cheap.  I don't know where you are or how receptive people are to door-to-door soliciting, but flyers are never a bad idea if you distribute them well.
