Do you guys think I'll lose marks in an essay for this?

We had to write an essay and I did a lot of work on it, made sure it was the highest quality I could give but just as a joke I put 'Hop on Pop' in my reference list according to the APA style of referencing.

My lecturer's pretty laidback. What do you reckon?

nope, you should be alright

i put dreamy time with my friend meth on mine and my teach was crackin up laughing for the rest of the day. so hop on pop should have no trouble

I think it depends on your teacher.  Some of them are total fiends of anything "Not professional."  Others are super cool and will probably enjoy it.

It is ok as long as references are not calculated

It'd be better if you actually referenced Hop on Pop in the essay.
