i feel, if they go behind the net or come far out of the crease that they should be fair game.

  1. Yes.

I actually have a photograph from the newspaper on my refrigerator of Gump Worsley, when he was with the Minnesota North Stars, after being hit in the head with a puck and was "out cold" in the middle of the face-off circle. I'm not in favor of guys getting seriously injured, but this is HOCKEY - not ping-pong.

  2. i agree with you 100% mostly because of goalies like Turco, he drives me crazy cause he blocks the puck from the players behind the net and theres nothing they can do they have to stay out of his way. It's ridiculous. If they made them fair game i bet he wouldn't do that too much anymore. or i'd get to see him get laid out:) either works for me.

  3. No I don't think they are. They've got a big job to do, all it takes is one cheap shot behind the net and there goes your #1 goalie. I say let the goalie be off limits, and bring back the crease rule! It should not be a goal if a player is IN the crease. Let the goalie do his job and let the offense have the talent to score and not distract/hurt the goalie.

  4. I don't think they should be "fair game" but I do think they are too protected. I think good clean contact should be allowed. The problem is the opponents will try to "take out" the goalie or at least knock him out of action enough to keep him from returning to the goal.

I'd like to see them change the trapezoid to more of a smaller "safe zone", and then when the goalie moves out of that "safe zone", he can be checked like any other player.

  5. I've been saying this for a long time: If a goalie decides to leave his territory(the crease), he should be knocked on his rear end like any other player.  If a goalie is in the crease, then you have no right to touch him.

  6. I really do not like the trapazoid very much.

  7. no the goalies are not other wise you see concussions and stuff everywhere

  8. yes. they should be fair game.

  9. They are genius.  As long as a goalies out of the crease he's fair game.

  10. I was thinking that it is time to go back to the old rules regarding the goalies playing the puck.

Get rid of the trapezoid and make goalies fair game if they are out of the crease.  It is not right that a goalie races an opponent to the puck and then blocks him, occassionally getting a penalty, to play the puck.

Fleury is very good at playing the rules to his advantage.  But the way it is set up now is just not right.

  11. I disagree with you on this and I consider myself as old school as it gets when it comes to these things.  The purpose of a body check is supposed to be separating the player and the puck.  The only player who is permitted to tie the puck up is the goaltender.  I believe they have taken the rules to the extreme regarding contact with goalies, but just opening it up to making them fair game would be a bit much.

  12. They are fair gm however if you hit them generally you'll have someone come in and take you on

  13. I dont know, I saw someone flat out run over Fleury, and not get called. Maybe the officials were trying to make up for the two "goalie interference" calls that should never have been in game 5?

  14. I don't think so, because their are only two dressed per game. That means that if they're fair game people will abuse them, and then they won't play as well. Also if one gets injured, the other would also be fair game, and then they'd be in serious trouble if the other got injured. I like that they are protected,  because they get less injuries.
