Almost by definition they are universally hated.

Has any-one heard of a bully being loved? ...or are there instructional courses offered in "How to become a Bully 101" ?

The fact that they exist however means that they ARE accepted ... even loved ... but that not all such acolytes who do so, see the Bully as such.

One person's "bully' is another person's "leader of immense strength" .

i guess it depends where one is in the effects chain of the "Bully' as to how they are regarded and what label is applied for self-salving of assessment.

I don't hate bullies. I feel sorry for them. I would think that 9 time out of 10, they bully people because they are insecure in their own life. I don't think it is right that they choose this reason to pick on other people, but wouldn't you think that hating them makes them even more angry and insecure? All they need is someone who understands. Hatred is unnecessary

No. They probably have been bullied themselves. They are often the most insecure people and one ought to feel sorry for them. Figure out what makes you a target and if you can stop doing it. Bullies thrive on a reaction. If they don't get one it makes what their doing a waste of their energy.They will move on to another target.
