Are portrayed as "socialist villains" while the USA are portrayed as the heroes? Like, in the Cold War, for example. Who are the bad guys? Oh, no! Not America! It must be evil, socialist Russia! And the Great Escape! We've now got a whole generation of young Americans growing up thinking that they were AMERICANS who escaped, when they weren't, they were British! I ain't anti-American, I love the U.S.A., but I DO hate how us Europeans are always made to look like the villains...

Your opinion?

  1. I hate the USA people ,they're very bad !

  2. Did you see what is Russia doing to Georgia, they killed hundreds of civilians.

I always hated Russian government and military and always will.

  3. To me America is the lesser of two evils

  4. I think Americans have made a really bad name of themselves in past years. I couldn't feel proud being an American regardless of how much American's would want me to be.

Not to mention I find being proud of where you life a complete lunacy!

I mean, c'mon, what the heck are you trying to prove?

I don't feel proud of living in a village and I wouldn't feel proud of living in a city either. To live in a certain country and be proud of that is like being proud that I am in my room right now as opposed or kitchen or living room etc.

  5. Honestly, we don't mean to portray any other country as bad. Actually, in our history books, we have quite a few European, Asian, Afraican and South American nations as our comrads and as heroes aswell. It's just that the US was built off of those who were persecuted. Those who were escaping. The reason the UK is portrayed as a bad guy in most of our books is because, yeah we immigrated from there BUT we did it to escape froma corrupt government. As with ALL of those who immigrated to the US. They were escaping corrupt governments who were limiting their freedom and their right to persue a happier and more fulfilled life.

Now, America certainly doesn't have the best reputation these days but honestly, I'm still proud of my country because I know for the feild that I'm working for, I wouldn't make it in other countries. My cousins (who are mixed) wouldn't be quite as accepted in other countries. Other countries are sometimes portrayed as the bad guys because, back when we were in wars with them, they honestly were. And not JUST by American stadards but were looked upon as the bad guys by many countries. So it's not that we mean to do so, it's just that we're the land of the once-persecuted. We're "Little Annie" and other countries who limit other's freedoms and such are the "mean kids" and "evil-step-mothers" of us. Lol. If that makes sense hun.
