Do you hate it when this happens?

Question

My niece is 1 year old this week and she is still bald. We always dress her in pink and flowery girlie clothes but every single time someone comes up to us and says " what a cute boy or HE is so adorable" It gets really annoying. And I think to myself are you kidding me she wearing a pink dress and you are asking what HIS name is? and then when I tell them they look confused and say " O i'm sorry I guess shes and girl"

Has this happened to you? Does it get irritating for you?

oh yea this happens a lot to me i will dress my son up in a baseball outfit blue and green and they go oh SHE is so adorable or what is HER name and yes it get really aggravating

I've gotten used to it. I just smile at them; they are just being nice.

Those people sound stupid, if she is clearly wearing a pink dress that should be a dead give away. Is she very masculine looking? Some male babies just look very feminine and some femal babies just look like male babies. My nephew could be wearing blue spiderman overalls or something that clearly only a boy would be wearing but people thought he was a girl. He did not have long har, he just looked feminine.

Relax, its OK. They are just trying to be friendly. Look at the positive side.

It happens to my best friend all the time.

What has helped is I make her soft bowbands.

Then its obvious that she's a girl.

This happened with my daughter constantly.  It drove me crazy when she was dressed in pink and purple.

Yes my daughter is 7 months old ( pretty bald ) and people do it all the time ( mostly men but I had a lady do it the other day ) My neighbor down the street came right up and said oh, cute baby is it a boy or girl and she had a BRIGHT PINK sweatsuit on with a pink hat....It's funny that people are so dumb ha ha.

It is so annoying. My Daughter isn't bald (I don't know why people assume that if the baby's bald, the baby's a boy), but anyway, she has a PINK car-seat, PINK pacifier in her mouth, and she was wearing purple. This couple comes up and the guy says "I was thinking IT was a girl, but you have IT dressed in purple, but IT'S too pretty to be a boy, so what is IT? A boy, right?" And I said "No, SHE'S a GIRL!" Why in the heck would I dress my boy in purple? And why the heck are you calling my baby an IT? I was pretty annoyed, as you can tell.

this happened when my 15 year old sis was a baby. my mom always had her in pink and dresses and even had her ears pierced and people still asked if she was a boy and she is very feminine looking. there are just stupid people out there

LOL yes! I had my daughter in all pink with a pink baseball cap and someone told me he was so cute. I said thanks he just loves wearing pink...maybe because he's a girl!

oh my gosh when I was a baby I had really short hair so everybody mistaked me for a boy. I always got super mad. It took me until I was 4 to grow enough hair to look like a girl.
