I am very competitive and I would probably have to say I hate losing more then anything in the world. Its gotten to point were I don't even like competing. I wouldn't say I'm a poor loser because I know when I'm beat. I wish I could turn the emotion I feel when I lose into a desire to get better, but most of the time I just quit because I don't want to lose again. Any Advice?

  1. One thing to do is I never give up.

  2. I am in the same situation and its no fun which I agree with you. someone show me that I didn't really lose unless I didn't learn from losing. many things were point out to me and it make plenty of sense, so I re-group and got back out there and I saw the different and I won.

if you quit in competition then you will also quit on life when things don't go your way. first thing you should do it to understand how and why you lost. next thing is to learn how and can you do better the next time out. You have to understand that you have won in other ways by getting the guts to get out there and do your best and show that you can do it. one most importanting thing I was taught that I must embrace the fact that I can't win every time when I compete and learn that failure is not always a bad thing. if you fail to learn and accept this then you will never be a real winner.

I hope this will help you...good luck

  3. I'm totally like that too!!!

  4. Anyone competitive would feel that way. And when you say ''why'' you do not like competing is not because you are a bad loser I believe you, but perhaps it may be because you know exactly ''what'' you are competing against, and perhaps feel intimidated on the fact that '''WHAT IF I LOSE ?''. Again, that is not being a poor loser. When I say that, I mean, perhaps you saw something in the competition that you are ''NOT READY'' on. Thats all. You can definitelly turn the emotion by figuring out what is the '''one factor'' that turns you away from it. There should be something that makes you feel you can do it, but yet you have a fear of something that makes you feel that you are sure to lose, even if it couldl have won you.

I know. Cos' I always shy away from some competition, even when I am highly competitive, and have won several projects. But I am a poor loser unlike you because, big fishes have something called '''GOD FATHERS'''...and for small fish...they may get eaten up....so I still in the pond, but hope to enter the ocean soon....and I am sure you will too, or probably you are in the ocean and just having a bad phase, not to worry...this will get over...

    take care, and good luck
