I test rode a 29'er bike (a 29'er is a bike with 29 inch wheels instead of the standard 26 inch MTB wheel) at my local bike shop and it was notably different in feel, though not more or less difficult to ride or maneuver....it piqued my curiosity and left me wanting to know more, maybe even to find one for myself, but at this point in my life (and in history) I feel funny about buying a bike that is only good for certain specialized uses...I need a bit of versatility...so what do you think of your 29'er and do you use it around town, on longer rides, or just for trail riding....? How does it stack up against other bikes you've owned?

  1. The wheel size bike will not constrain the way you use your bike. Other than BMX tricks, you can do anything on the bigger wheels you did on the smaller ones. In fact, it will make your bike more versatile. One of the guys I ride with has a 29er that he uses to ride to work, on the streets, and on the trails. The 29'er has the same size wheels as road bikes and hybrid bikes.
