I refuse to have one as I think it makes no difference to the way other people drive or react to me!

  1. I try not to deliberatley crash into cars with a baby on board sticker , as for the lame excuse the emergency will know there is a child in the vehicle and there isnt , wont they waste valuable time looking for  one ? its just another sad sign of living in a nanny state.

  2. I didn't realise there where so many rebels on this site. And to feel so strongly about not having a child sign in a car.

I bet your the same bunch that play ball games on the grass where it says no ball games. As your such rebels.

Myself don't have this sign in my car i have in the past but the car i have atm has stock tinted rear screen so it wouldn't be seen the idea of having on is as mentioned in so many answer about the emergency services etc etc also we always have sporty cars and every journey someone has tried to race

me,and in some not all but a good few i have pointed to the sign and the other driver has backed off from trying to create this situation. Seems strange but it did happen a lot so there you go another reason.

  3. They are a good idea in case of accidents but how many people remember to take it off when the baby is not on board?

What is infuriating is someone clearly driving with the baby in the car who is still driving like an idiot and putting themselves the child and others in danger.

  4. I have Princesses "" on board.

It doesnt make much difference but it seams to make drivers more aware.

    Interesting question have a star.

  5. yes  x because it looks cute , plus i have a 2 yr old baby boy x

  6. Baby on board signs means there is a young child or baby on board

  7. Yes I Do. I Have it so it warns drivers watch out if you crash my car you will crash my baby.

  8. Ridiculous idea - the insinuation is that people drive like maniacs but when there is a "princess on board" we all slow down.  Very annoying.

  9. nope, i dont have a child yet.

the reason for having one is so that if there is ever a crash or a fire in your car, the firemen or police know that there is a baby in the car.

  10. I have one in my car and have had since the day my daughter was born, at one point I even took it out of my car and put it in my parents' when I borrowed their car. I wouldnt go anywhere without it.

If I was to have an accident then the 1st person to the accident would know that there is a baby there with me (if she was thrown from the car and laid unconscious somewhere dying.) And so they would know to look for her especially if I was unconscious and couldn't tell them there was a baby too .

I also had a bump on board one when I was preggers cuz like someone said earlier in an accident I may have been unable to tell them I was pregnant and when I am pregnant I am on certain meds and they may react to other ones etc etc

  11. because people know if i have an infant in the car they are even more carless without.

  12. i do, initially, as others have stated it was to alert emergency services that a baby is on board and if it isnt in the car then....well you can work out the rest!

but most people leace them in all the time (the stickers not the baby lol)

i also had a mum to be on board sticker for the same reason, esp when i was in early stages, so that if i was unable to tell paramediscs i was pregnant they would know anyway.

i always like to think it will make a difference to how others drive around you but dont think it does really.

  13. It's to alert first responders that there's an infant in a car in case of a wreck.  It's not to tell other drivers to be careful around you.

No, I never had one in the car when I was driving babies around.

  14. no, because I dont have a car and i dont have a baby so i cannot put a baby on board...

  15. THANK YOU!!!!

I personally do not see the reason as to having one. If someone gets in an accident, it's not like there is a way to avoid crashing into someone else just because they have a sticker. I also agree with your point of that no one drives differently towards you just simply because you have a baby in your car.

  16. They are used so people will be polite and extra cautious when the ride near you. My friend has one on her car and if I ever get to drive him around one will be on my car!

  17. come on lets all be honest, dont you get mad when your late and someone is driving slow in from of you, so you get annoyed behind them and wonder why they are driving so slow...then realise theres a baby on board so you tend not to have your bumper so far up their ****!  .... dont tell me no one has done this!

  18. I don't have one but I do have a six week old baby boy.

I guess (I don't have the sticker) because I just started driving

    today anyway. I had a c-section so I couldn't drive until

    six weeks postpartum.

  19. I have one, and it's so other drivers will understand why I drive slower. I'd like to think that it makes people be a little bit more careful when driving near us.

I find it strange that anybody can give me a thumbs down! How can an answer to a 'why do you do...' question be wrong?!

  20. As an ex ambulance man I can tell you that the idea is to alert emergency crews that a baby is on board the vehicle. The only problem with them is that the majority of people don't remove the sticker when they are not carrying the child. This can waste valuable time searching the surrounding area because emergency crews have to assume the possibility of the child being thrown out of the vehicle in the collision.

  21. this was a silly fad back inthe 80s, they'd stick BABY ON BOARD plastic signs with a sucker to keep it on. It made no difference whatsoever...just another fad from this 80's retro boom

  22. I have a friend who has one which says - Baby I'm bored

I didn't bother having one when my children were young because, like you, I think it doesn't make any difference to other people's driving!

  23. because it tells other drivers that that there is a baby in the car

  24. nope, cuz i don't have a baby! lol

i think those are kind of funny. it's not like anyone wants to hit you deliberately and then they'll see you have a baby and think "nope, not you. i'll hit someone else!"

  25. i think there good. i have one as i have 2 kids, they warn off joy riders who want a chicken race or to intimdate you because of your stlye of car. my husband and i where driving our children down counrty junctions of limits up to 70mph. we were followed by a boy racer and his girlfriend, who looked to young and petratfid!! he insisted on driving up the **** of our car eggin us to go faster flashing his lights, my husband stayed at the same speed as his had his family in the car! hes a white van man, enough said. but the car carried on till we reached a round about where he pulled up next to us giving us the 'v's. his girl friend was screaming at him to stop pointing at our children on board sign, and he left at a different exit. so yes there a bloody good idea!!!

  26. i don't have one but i think people have one to as a plea to others to drive with care because precious cargo is on board!

  27. i always thought it was so if you had a crash emergency services would know to look for a baby.....but i dont really know ??? lol

  28. believe it or not ... some (not all - just mostly the ones who have kids too) people tend to drive more careful when they see that stuff..  but i guess that also depends on where you're at. drivers are pretty nice out here in colorado ...

and also, if you do get into an accident, paramedics would know that you have a baby on board ...

they could save your baby's life, ya know? ...

i'd keep it on if i were you ...

  29. Yes, I do, but not for the reason you might think!

See, when I get into my car with my baby,

I ask her, "Is it okay with you if I drive?",

and she usually gurgles her acceptance,

    if not begrudgingly so.

Therefore, I want the world to know that my baby

is "on board" with the idea of my driving her around!

(yeah, I know . . . long way to go for such a horrible pun!

go ahead and give me a negative rating . . .

    I deserve it!)  ;)

  30. I would never put on on my car, they are tacky and horrid.

  31. Yes I have. Keep it on ! In case of an accident, when the emergency services see the sticker, they will know there is a child in the car and get the right equipment quicker.
