  1. In common with most Veronicas, my name has been shortened, but I use the spelling "Roni" rather than the boys' name Ronnie.

My grandchildren call me "Groni" (Granny Roni)

  2. mines roma, the first four letters of my name.

  3. My first name is Virginia.  My nickname is Jennie

My  mom has told us that I revieved my nickname from her stepdad.

The story goes that my step-grandfather drove my mom to the hospital when she went into labor.  On the way to the hospital he noticed his jenny mule was out of the pasture.  He had to stop and catch her before they could proceed to the hospital.

    Bad HUH?

I am 56 years old now and I don't care who knows how I got my nickname. lol

  4. At work I was called Mad Dog because of my aggressive direct style and work ethic (some liked it, some did not).  The nickname came out in the open when our company's VP of Advertising (who was a good friend of mine) used a picture of my daughter in the company news letter (she was a model) and under the picture the caption read "Do you believe this is Mad Dog's daughter"?

  5. My name is Rhiannon and My nickname is Ronni..

I invented it about four years ago when I was 8 (12 now) and it is just letters in my name, lol, ...But I really like it hehee

  6. This is not a genealogical question.

  7. Hanz or Hani ------------ Hanz is short for Hannah and me old best mate called me Hani  a nick name just happens

    xx Hannah xx Amy's sister

  8. The closest thing I have is that we joke that my middle name is google.  Comes from my passion (mania) for finding info.

Wendy just never lent itself to anything.

  9. Spanky because they could not pronounce my last name in high school, so I've been spanky since 2002

  10. My name is Alexia and one of my nicknames is "Nutsy" because my friends say that I'm crazy. Another is "Mother Mopsy" because I reminded my grandmother of someone who went by that name. I have a lot more nicknames and they are names that you would give to your cat (such as Kitty, Kitty Wampus, Fluff) because I kinda resemble a cat.

  11. When I was in high school I was really fat and I was called Beachball. As I live in Scotland it eventually was shortened to Ba', I have now been known as Ba' for around thirty years, even though I am now much slimmer. My mate's kiddies have always called me Auntie Ba' and they are now in their twenties!! I love my nickname....

  12. my mate rhyce  is called rice and curry  coz are old R.E teacher use to call him rice on the regerster someone shouted rice and curry and thats what we call him

  13. Yes its Georgie and its derived from my surname

  14. Nicknames are, by their very nature, a way of "belittling" people, they are only given,  because a person is using disguised aggression as an avoidance, or diminishing tactic, the people who get them are treated as labels for evermore, not as people, and when given to people you work with, can damage a persons chances for future prosperity, and promotions, or relationships... it is how some people downgrade you, for their own benefit, as the person who adorns you with this "diminutive" is rarely seen as an offender, in the rat race, if they are even remembered as the originator of this, if this happens at work step on it immediately, or be labeled for life as a loser.......

All that, being said, I have suffered from, being called , Firstly, "Haggis", at school, "Achmed" in the army, and latterly, "TT" at work, i will not explain the army one, but suffice it to say, I was seen as the man you went to, if you ran short of the odd tank or land rover, or radio, at others expense.....the result was, that I was never seen as a promotion prospect, despite my suitability, as it was just too easy to dismiss me as a person.... you have been warned, do not let this happen to you......
