Just wondering if it would get used or if people grow tired of them...

I had one in hischool.   Couldn't figure out how to tack well with it.   By the time I was able to come about, I was blown downwind too far; stuck with a monohull now.   If I could figure how to turn into the wind I'd still have it.

There is nothing like using the wind to propel you on the water.  it is silent power.  In a hobiecat, the acceleration is incredible.  Some people are too busy for anything, but if you are looking for a fun, waterbased activity that you can share with several people, Buy the Hobie.

I have a 16' and love it. Don't use it much cuz I can't find a crew all the time but I take it out at least once a week. And blast along as best I can. If you like sailing the only reason to leave them is to get something bigger.

Actually I have six Hobie Cats and live in the middle of the desert. Please come get them, I am giving them away for free. Most have trailers. All need work.

had one 23 years and loved it.  I had a Turbo 14.  It had a jib.  The newer ones are lighter, more boyant, and easier to transport.  That is probably your biggest factor transporting the boat.  If you live on the water no big deal if not really look into what you are getting yourself into and how are you going to move it about.
