Do they cut you some slack if you've been here for only 5 or 6 years?

  1. Yeah, financial aid, too. If you're a US citizen, you take a back seat to illegals. Thank you, Liberals.

  2. NO.

Immigrants have the same chances as non-immigrants. Its about qualifications, not where you're from.

  3. The prior person is absolutely wrong,  You do NOT get preference for being illegal, and you can't even enroll.

Each freshman class is put together to reflect the diversity that makes for an interesting and challenging educational experience.  You do not get "slack" if you do not have the grades and scores to get into Berkeley, but in some cases they may admit a few who show promise for any number of reasons.  Most of the Asians at Berkeley are Asian-AMERICANS, meaning their parents live here and work and pay taxes.  If your English is sufficient to get the grades and scores that are competitive, you may get in, although many who are "qualified" are not admitted.
