Do you have a better chance of spotting a Widow or Brown Recluse Spider in Florida as opposed to rest of US?

  1. Not sure about Black Widows, I don't think we have them here in Florida, although you can Google.

    Brown Recluses however are in Florida although if you look at a map they aren't supposed to be but there have been quite a few bites in the state, including myself and I live in South Florida.  I was in the hospital for a week, and am still very much in recovery and it's been more than 3 months, Brown Recluses are nothing to mess with.

  2. I live in south FL as well. Black widows I have not seen. The brown recluse you don't see, what you do see is the recluse's bite. I have seen alot. If you get one you could even lose a body part. The infection from a recluse bite is ugly, and if not treated deadly. I don't think anyone trys to search them out.
