I have a bucket that I dump my pocket change in. I am saving up to buy a built in swimming pool and "pool boy".

  1. I have a 5 gallon water bottle i put all my pennies in, a gallon cider jug i put my nickles and dimes in, and a half quart tin i put my quarters in but have no idea how i'm going to spend it.

  2. I keep all change except pennies. There is nothing I am saving up for. I always use a credit card or bank card to purchase something. I don't like change in my purse, so I put it in a box and keep it in a drawer. Poppy

  3. My mom and dad had a change jar when I was growing up. Every day they toss coins into it and on their anniversary however much was in the bucket would be the amount they spent on their night out on the town. Some years they ended up at McDonald's other years were fancy restaurants. My brother and I were always their helpers when it came time to count the coins and we were just as curious as they were to see how much had been saved over the year.

    Thanks for the fun memory!

  4. I use a plastic milk jug that has a large cut-out for the change machine at the bank. I cash it in about every 3-4 weeks. It usually has about 20-25 dollars in it. Sometimes I use it for a haircut or maybe some beer or even some steaks for a change. Kinda like free money.

  5. Mine is just for emergencies someday. I have no idea how much is saved but feel certain it is a lot as the jar is a 5 gallon jar and almost full ready, it's just a safety net thing for me.

  6. I save my nickels in a canister because we play nickel-dime poker three or four times per month.

The rest I throw into my center console, use the pennies and change maybe at a drive through window getting a coffee or pop.

  7. I just save it until I find something I don't really need, but just want.  This way I don't feel so quilty when I splurge.

  8. Lets see ... one time I cashed it in, had enough to buy my grandson a toddler bed, and sheets and blankets for it.

Another time, I got some used furniture for the cabin.

While saving it, I've used it often, helping my grandson learning to count money.  We've played "store" because it helps with his math.

I am saving again.  No plans yet, but something will come up.

  9. Yes, and my g'kids get the silver.....I have 2 containers of pennies that I try to get them to roll up but they won't fool with pennies.....so, one day I'm going to roll them all up and stack them on the table and show them how many dollars the pennies turned into.  They will really be surprised!!!!  And a lesson learned!!!!!

  10. Well...I hope you get Raol!!!  =)

I just cashed one is $80 plus.  I have one that I started in the early 80's in my Law Enforcement days, all the coins were from the uniform I tossed in this wine Bottle.  so they are all very old.  I am saving that and one day I told my Sweetie we might be rich as old as the coins are!

  11. No bucket - but I do have a change sorter!  I save my change each time I get some regardless of the amount.   Then when the quarter section is full ($10.00) I put the coins in a wrapper and save it  in a can along with the other coins previously wrapped.  I save all year and by the time Hanukkah/Christmas comes around - my shopping is almost paid for!   The change sorter also has a nickel tube, a dime tube and a penny tube!   It adds up very fast.    Now, about that pool boy - - - -   ? !!!             CJ

  12. I have a very old leather purse that I dump my change into.  I think that purse weighs about 20 pounds now.  I'm such a tightwad that I'm just saving that change.  The last time I counted another full purse of change I had well over $300.00 and it was spent on a short weekend away from home with my not a pool boy husband. :)

  13. You know, I have been giving mine to my grandchildren.  I tell them they can get money from my pot of gold.  However, I am liking your pool boy idea a lot better.

  14. I have a money jar that's able to tell me the dollar amount of the change  I've deposited. I used to use the money for Clay Aiken concert tickets, but since he intentionally had a baby out  of wedlock, I'm no longer a fan. Guess I'll  buy  new fall clothes with the money!

  15. I am saving mine for a new computer. I need a new monitor, tower, and printer. I already have a new keyboard and mouse.

  16. I have a coffee can I've always thrown my loose change into.   When I got about $50 I'd take it to Atlantic City and play the nickle slots (it lasts about 20 minutes!).   But for the past few years I've been using my debit card for all my purchases and I hardly ever have loose change anymore.

  17. Never thought of a Pool Boy!!  My change jar goes toward a Christmas Basket for an underprivileged family..

  18. I'm saving for a big screen LCD high definition TV...I'm have enough for the remote.

  19. I actually have two change cans, I use one for my Granddaughter and one I put pocket change in ,Ive always had to break into it before and haven't really saved , But I really like your idea - Good luck

  20. Yes, actually I do.  Not saving for anything in particular, but I do like your swimming pool idea.
