My daughter is eleven, and has had symptoms of ADD since kindergarten. Back then, teachers just said she seemed to be in her own happy world, marching to the beat of a (very slow) drummer. She was always last to finish things, even straggling along at the rear of lines to and fro, humming a happy tune. But they also said she was clearly very bright, inquisitive and creative. Third grade, the problems began. She wasn't finishing assignments, always losing and forgetting things, spacing out in class, doodling and decorating her paper rather than what she was supposed to be doing, and getting too chatty and making other students around her laugh. At home, she was unorganized, messy, S-L-O-W to do everything, and always getting sidetracked. Two years ago, we tried Focalin. Results were great and significant, but after a month my happy little girl was depressed. So we nixed that, and she's been unmedicated since. She's in gifted classes, but not performing as well as she could. Straterra???
