Do you have a favorite summer memory with your baby?

I know summer is not over yet, but with the kids being back in school, the cool nights, the beaches being closed for the season...it sure feels like it.

It went by fast, but it was a good one. If I had to pick a favorite summer memory, it would have to be taking my boys to the beach, where my oldest would swim his butt off, and my baby would try to outscream the waves.

What's yours?

  1. I think my favorite summer memory with my daughter would have to be starting her in Gymnastics.

I needed something to keep our weeks busy, so that I wouldn't constantly be worrying about my husband. And my daughter needed something to keep Mommy busy...LOL.

It has been awesome. She has learned so much since she started 3 months ago, and has met some friends her own age, and I have met some "mommy friends" as well. Plus, there's nothing I love more than clothes shopping for her, so my mad dash around town trying to find XXS leotards was thrilling... :)

We've also had some fun moment outside. We went on a two-day camping trip, we've went to the rodeo, we have visited two different fairs..etc.

However, my favorite time of year is fall/winter. All the holidays, all the snow...I love it. So, I'm sure my daughter and I have a ton of fun stuff coming in the next few months as well.

  2. Ha ha. You wouldn't be asking that question if you lived in the UK. What summer? It's rained every day! I guess my favoutite memory though is taking them to the Zoo and taking a picture of them on a fake crocodile. (And seeing all of the animals of course) Even then they were wearing waterproofs.

  3. It was our first family camping trip.  Wow, it seems like so long ago now.  It was in the beginning of June and the mosquitoes were out in full force.  My husband and I love to camp, we used to go 4-8 times a year.  This was Aaron's second camping trip, but really his first official one.  It wasn't the most enjoyable camping trip we had by far, with the heat and the bugs, but it was the first in hopefully dozens to come.  The love of the outdoors is one thing I would be hugely disappointed in if Aaron did not share with us.

Now I'm kinda sad.  Our first together summer is over.  I don't feel like we did as much as we could have, but I know next summer with a one and half year old will be much more exciting.  I'm much more of a spring/autumn kinda girl anyways.

  4. We took our three boys, 10, 6 & 3 months to a major league baseball game on labor day.  It was one of those blue sky September days.  Perfect way to end summer vacation.

  5. Yes. Cade loves swimming. He is addicted to the water. It is so cute. Actually today I was doing yradwork and he crawled into his pool and there was no water in it. So of course I filled it for him.

But just being outside was great!
