Do you have a garlic spray recipe to kill aphids on my spinach?

Question

I am growing organic spinach in tubs on my balcony and it is infested with aphids.

Can anyone share a proven garlic-based aphid spray recipe with simple ingredients usually found in the kitchen? I have see quite a few but some with more complicated ingredients (and some as simple as garlic powder & water). I have also seen contradictory information as to whether dish soap is an OK ingredient? I prefer garlic powder to fresh garlic if possible.

Also, is it OK to use that spray with my balcony beets as well?

Recipe:

2 cups of water

2 medium cloves of garlic, finely chopped

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 Tablespoon Dish soap (lemon scent works better)

Put ingredients into a blender. blend on high. Let it sit overnight, and then strain through a coffee filter. Pour the liquid into a hand held sprayer bottle, and apply.

Garlic spray is a repellent and will not kill the aphids. But soap spray made with a teaspoon of dish soap to a quart of water will. the trick is you have to repeatedly spray the soap spray on the plants daily until the aphids are gone. It is very important to get all surfaces, especially the underside of the leaves.

This is fine to use on beets as well.

One thing about dish soap, it is a detergent and not organic. I like using Dr Bronner's peppermint soap (use 1/4 tsp to a quart of water). It is all natural and a true soap and passes muster with organic inspectors. Fels naptha is also a good insecticidal soap and is also considered organic. There is Safer brand insecticidal soap that most garden centers carry as well

the spray that i use simply consists of  three tablespoons of garlic juice,a cup of water,one drop of dish soap and put in a spray bottle.i wouldnt suggest using garlic powder fresh works best!
