Do you have a presentiment that some terrible disasters will happen in the USA this year?

Let's see:  Tornadoes happen every year, so I'll predict a few of those.  Hurricanes happen more often than not, so I'll predict one or two of those.  The US population is getting older thanks to the Boomers, so I can safely predict a rise in fatalities due to all of the maladies affecting seniors.  I'll predict a flood somewhere throughout the US, and a drought (since this country covers SO much land, you'll be able to find a case of both every year)....get my point?

Yes, the gas crisis will eventually lead to riots in the inner city, which will in turn lead to the middle class taking up arms to protect their family, which will lead to the upper class hording all the resources available, which will lead to Bush declaring martial law, which will lead to keeping him in office longer than his term, which will lead to riots all over the country, which will finally lead to the downfall of America.

Tornado's happen because of cold air.  The last time the number of hurricanes were like today's was back in the 1970's when temperatures were at their coolest and talk about ice ages filled the newspapers.

Like "global warming" you're just taking a guess.  Yea it's fun to make these statements, but some take them seriously and believe that bad things will happen to them.  

Too bad people believe speculation and rumors rather then science.

They already have.  Major tornados in April and May, killing people.  Doesn't get much more terrible than that.

What happened in 1998?  The weather (probably ocean currents) and global warming combined for an unusually hot year.

Heat fuels storms.  It's not appropriate to link any particular storm to global warming, but global warming will cause worse storms in general.  Like we're seeing now.
