  1. Yes I've had one since 2004. I've had no problems with yeast infections. As for as hurting it was a little uncomfortable having it inserted but really it was no big deal.My periods only last a couple days now and their pretty light which is wonderful.I love not having to worry with pills and patches anymore but I have to be honest I do not like mine! I've been planning to have mine removed next month.I have cramps still to this day their not that bad but I didn't have them before getting the IUD.The reason i'm having mine removed is my weight I have gained a lot since getting it which is hard for me to deal with. Maybe removing it will help me lose what I've gained. The cramps are minor the weight is my problem. A lot more positive than negative.I know some that has had no problems at all with it and some that have.Give it a try you may love it and if you don't you can always have it removed. Good Luck!

  2. I have the copper one because I hate hormones and am currently waiting for my last depo shot to wear off so I can enjoy having this IUD with no more mood swings and stuff. Anyway, I got it two weeks ago almost and fear that I may already have some kind of infection and I have never had anything like that in my life, but as long as I don't get them too frequently, I think the IUD will be worth it. I am 22 and have a one year old daughter. When I got it, I took a Vicodin before I went and it was still pretty uncomfortable, but not painful having it inserted. But, they say it hurts less for women who have already haad children. I even knew this and was still scared even with the Vicodin! How could I be afraid of pain after pushing an almost seven pound baby out of the same place? I don't know, but I was. Anyway, it only lasted a few minutes, I would say that the cramps I had afterward hurt way more than the insertion, but those only lasted the first day, and then came back for a day a few days later. But really, the only way you'll know how YOU will react to it is to try it out, they can remove it if you hate it!! I chose the Paraguard because I have heard SOME women complain of weight gain and low s*x drive on the Mirena, plus it lasts five years longer. NO HORMONES!!!! I am so excited, maybe these stupid headaches will go away. Anyway, I am about to give you a link to a website that really helped me in my decision to get one, they have all the information you could need plus tons of personal experience stories, so please check it out, it's great!!http://community.livejournal.com/iud_div...

    Good luck!!!:)
