Do you have any calming elements in your home?

I have a little froggy water fountain that trickles water through a little tap making a lovely calming sound, and my rocks (ordinary everyday rocks, not mystic ones) that I have scattered around the room.

Do you have anything in particular in your home that helps to create that calming feeling for you?

  1. I have a water fountain in my home too, and I love it! Mine has three tiers and is adorned with pretty rocks, and on the top spins a translucent Chinese ball. It's mesmerising to watch, and very peaceful to listen to.

I also love my crystals that make rainbows dance in my kitchen ... and I have windchimes downstairs that have a hauntingly beautiful sound.

Flowers freshly picked from the garden make me happy too - the fragrance is so pure and beautiful. I'm especially fond of sweet peas - harder to grow for long in Queensland, but so, so worth it.

  2. We had a scratching post for a simese cat to claw, but I got one better? The carpet dulls the sound as I use it for clubbing the TV every time Australia doesnt get an olympic medal, why just the other day, I threw it through the 45th TV set from when the games started just as the Aussie sailors who won gold capsized the third time near the finish?

We used blaming the Canadians? Yea, I knew I shoulda given the Chasers an all expenses paid trip to they Olympics?

Well, I mean without dreaming anything how CAN THE FERAKIGNAJKFK OLYMPICS BE CALM WHAT A DUMB QUESTION.

Sorry the scratching post just went throught the computer?

Yea well during olympics Roy and HG used to make calm, but now? Sorry nothing replaces them its been the worst coverage ever, I even had to join the Chasers Web page and leave a comment under the name taken from Affluents Anonymouse ie Effluents Anon because I am full of it?

  3. Scented candles, a house in the bush, surrounded by trees & native Australian wildlife

It doesn't get any more calming than that

  4. my wind chime

  5. I use aromatherapy oils, not necessarily on a burner. I just place a few drops on a cotton wool ball and sit it on my radiator. The room fills with the fragrance.

If you use calming oils they create a  calming and relaxing atmosphere but you can do this using medicinal oils such as tea tree or eucalyptus when there are people in the house with colds and other infections.

The smell does not linger around for days as it does if you buy cheap perfumed burner oils so it you wish to change oils each day they don't mingle.  Just don't use the same cotton wool ball -bin it!
