  1. if you have scissors and colorful paper, cut some of the paper up the have the kiddo glue the little bits of paper onto a big piece of paper - like a collage or mosaic, also good for fine motor skill development

Or you could tear the paper into bits

  2. Child scissors would be good.  Let her/him cut out magazine pictures to make a collage.  At two, children are just beginning to develop fine motor skills, so think process, not product.  It's the actual cutting and gluing that is important.  Praise the final product to encourage the child, but don't expect fancy things!

  3. Who says you have to use the typical craft stuff to have fun?  Got mini marshmallows and toothpicks (or uncooked spaghetti noodles)?  Let you child have fun "building" with those materials.  Or how about other dried noodles strung on some thread for making fun necklaces?  Two year olds love to sort and pour things.  Once again, dried noodles (or pony beads) a coffee scoop and plastic bowls to the rescue.

If your crayons are broken, take the paper off, break them up into small pieces, put them into metal cupcake pans (or, even better, a metal candy pan in a fun shape) and melt them in a warm (200 degree) oven for about 15 minutes.  When they harden they become fun "rainbow" crayons if you mixed lots of different colors pieces together.

Or go outside, grab a leaf or two, put it under your paper and do some rubbings with a crayon.

Lots of ideas out there if you just think outside the box a little.

    Enjoy!

  4. Greeting cards...use old catalogs, magazines, or yesterday's junk mail to clip pseudo "gifts" for the child to send to loved ones such as sisters, brothers, mom, dad, grandmother, granddad, etc...  Just fold a plain piece of paper and glue the items "gifts" that the child would like to give to the person (recipient).  You may keep them or mail them.  It helps to teach the child to be generous and thoughtful of others.

  5. u can create some cute cards..cut n paste techniques..

  6. I'm hoping u have scissors. what about those people chains those are tight, or like coloring.

  7. Have the child(ren) color a few pages with different colors, tear the colored pages into variety sized pieces, then glue them on a white piece of paper making a mosaic picture.

Have the children draw pictures and make collages. You can even draw pictures for the children to color and make into a puzzle for them to piece back together.

  8. why yes.

    you can make "snakes"

  9. Check online at www.dltk-kids.com they have tons of crafts for many ages. Best thing is that they are free!

  10. my moms a teacher. she makes little masks or hats.

  11. go to www.enchantedlearning.com

they have lots of craft ideas. they have one that's so cute! you save all your old broken crayons, cut up in shavings. cut out a butterfly shape out of wax paper. then put the shavings between 2 pcs of wax paper. Melt with a hot iron. Its so cute! also save your egg cartons, paper towel and toilet paper tubes, tissue, oatmeal and cereal boxes.

  12. I am a headstart teacher and an artist.  I was called in to sub for the early headstart this summer and we were trying to come up with some crafts to do for Father's Day.  We ended up using popcicle sticks (which are easy to get since you don't have them) and we finger painted them (you could color them with crayons) and we glued them vertically around soup cans (with the labels left intact) and the students gave them out as pencil holders.  It was messy and it took a lot of hand over hand but it was fun and well worth the time and effort.  Good luck

  13. You could make a telescope.  Just have the child color the paper then roll it up and glue the ends together.  He will get a kick out of looking at you through it.

  14. give him/her crayons and paper let them do whatever they want but be sure to praise what they do
