Do you have any experience with Vista.?

Would you recommend upgrading a Windows 2000 company network to it? What if the network consists of Windows XP machines? Windows ME machines?

  1. if it ain't broke don't fix it vista takes min of one gig of ram to run the O/S and some of the older comps you have may not be able to run it at all


  2. The future of Windows is going to be Vista. It should certainly be in the IT plans for an upgrade as the operating systems will no longer be supported in a few years. Some of them already aren't.

    As noted above, you'll also need to consider implementation of hardware upgrades in your overall plan. Vista will require at least 1GB of RAM and will use almost all of that. I recommend 2GB of memory for Vista.

    You'll also want faster processors.

    So, definitely consider upgrading, just be aware of all the cost associated and budget and plan accordingly.
