I'm not trying to raise peanuts so PLEAS dint give suggestions like a bake sale. I want to buy as little as possible it's going to a good cause so we need profits so pleas leave a list of company's that the fount raiser needs. Last year the person organizing this event made over 400thousand dollars so think big.

thanks

  1. I once organised a fashion parade using volunteers.

It takes a lot of work to find the venue, volunteers (including models), and choreography but you don't have to buy much.

Approach a night club for venue. They will let you do it on a slow night and ask if you can manage the cloak room to make more money.

Go to fashion stores and borrow clothes.

It helps to know a lot of creative people who are willing to give up their time for your charity.

We only made $5000 but we had a lot of fun.

  2. I just finished working at a ribfest on the weekend, we will probably raise about $100,000 or so. We invited ten "ribbers", basically travelling restaurants that cook ribs and sell them to the public. The fundraising comes from Corporate sponsorship and beer sales. Some of these ribfests raise substantial funds, especially if you can secure corporate sponsorship.

I've seen other groups hold charity auctions, wine festivals, events where chefs are invited to cook and you sell tickets for samples, charity poker tournaments (you could hit up online poker sites for sponsorship), charity casinos, organize a run/walk for charity.

    Hope that helps

  3. do a 5 day car wash...to raise money

and it only costs about three dollars for each bottle of car soap and get  sponges =] ten points pleaseeee

  4. Big-money fund-raisers are as much about rich people entertaining themselves as it is about the cause it's for. Auction off luxury goods (trips. jewelery, art, the services of an interior designer, etc.) and charge a per-plate fee to attend. Host it in a fancy place and invite the media.
