Do you have any good lifeguard stories?

If any of you are lifeguards, are pool patrons constantly complaining or being bitchy to you? I work 5 days a week at a pool, and everybody has somthing to complain about.. = ) how many of you deal that?

I lifeguarded from 1999 till 2003 and I work for the company in their office now. No matter what there will always be someone complaining, that's just life. Some people just like to complain. Now if you're not doing your job, fix that. If they are complaining about a single gum rapper on the deck or something stupid like that take care of it but let it slid they are just looking for something to complain about. You also have to take charge and not let them run you over, if you let them do it once they will do it again. I'm not saying be rude to the patron, but be firm. You are there to control the situation not them.

When I was a teenager I use to go swimming 6 times a week just to check out the lifguards and work on a good tan and make my hair more blonde with the sun! and I did feel sorry for the lifeguards who had to hear all the complaining and all the other c**p and I always felt like telling them to shut up and go jump of the diving board!lol...you know we go there to have a great time not hear all the cmplaining and bitching for a every little thing!
