Do you have any ideas as to how to pass the time on a 10-11 hour flight?

I have tried things such as reading, playing cards, watching TV, and listening to my iPod, but I can never get very distracted from how long the flight is.

Also, I have trouble sleeping on planes; I know I have covered all the basics, but do you all have anything you really love to do on flights?

  1. Work crosswords, write to your grandmother, when you are going through magazines and find articles that you don't have time to read, tear them out and save them to take with you.  If these ideas or the ones you mentioned don't work, then you must have ADD or something like that, because that about covers everything you can do without getting in trouble.  Maybe you just shouldn't take those long journeys.

  2. If you want to sleep take dramamine it will knock you out for a good 6-8 hours at least. You will never occupy yourself with just one thing. read, talk, play cards, listen to music, watch tv, strech your legs, sleep, do word searches, cross word puzzles, journal, draw, etc. I love doing all of those things on just about every flight I do. In fact I enjoy flying so much now that I occupy myself so well that I hate to even sleep and miss out on the flight!

  3. Sleeping pills.  Then you are refreshed and ready to go when you arrive.  Ask your doctor for a light sleeping pill or just try over the counter sleep aids.  Also use ear plugs and eye cover to help you sleep.

I like talking to different people and learning about their lives and situations.  I've meet allot of interesting people that way.

  4. try using ear plugs and blind fold,it really helped me. Also if  u fly on jet blue they have little t.v's on the seats i hoped i helped

  5. How about playing a Playstation Portable, or Nintendo DS. I think a combination of all the things you mentioned might work. No single thing might keep you occupied, you might have to plan multiple things to do.

  6. Try to take an over the counter sleeping pill to help you sleep on the plane.

I take multiple items with me - reading materials, portable handheld games, dvd player with movies.

  7. How about bringing along a really long movie to watch on a DVD player?  Like....Lord of the Rings, or Pearl Harbor?  That'll take up some time right there, lol!  I probably annoy the people around me, but I love to take pictures from the plane when I'm flying...but then again, I always fly over land or interesting things...but for the most part, like everyone else said, bring along a portable gaming system - or your laptop!  You can play with pictures, organize files, paint (haha), movies, music, etc.  It may not last the whole 10 hours, but if you're near an outlet, it might work to your advantage!!

  8. mild sedative and an isle seat - valerian is a herbal over the counter option

  9. Try playing games . . sudoku, crosswords, word searches, etc

Reading is great. A good book or magazine.

Sleeping makes time pass really quickly, look at your local drugstore for a safe sleep aid.

portable games system are good if you like playing video games.

music helps . . . take ur ipod or mp3 player

make a bag of stuff . ..  include snacks, beverages, and whatever stuff you wanna take. that way when you get bored of one thing, you can try another.

  10. try valium

  11. Lapt Top..  they now create plugins so that it will stay charged while traveling

  12. keep  books with u for reading during flight those u like more and keep ur Handy PlayStation with u
