Put colored pictures up (or black and white pictures). I have magazine advertisements ALL over my walls. Stuff like this:

Make sure and use music some!  This way, you can incorporate a keyboard (photo or picture) of some kind!  Also, Dalmatians and zebras . . .Whatcha' think??

Think formal or classic-

Silver mirror and picture frames for photos or art work, crystal candle holders or vase, a huge silver dish.

Think Safari-

Zebra throw or rug, a bamboo basket for magazines, a huge tropical plant.

Think Shabby Chic-

Add some floral touches, distressed ornate accessories, plush pillows.

Think Modern-

A group of sleek black picture frames with black and white photos or abstract art, black or white book/wall shelf, a few accessories in a bright color for drama and interest.

yup get that black and white tile that makes the floor look like a checker board. and go to ikea they sell chalk board walls! (you can get it in black or green) yup you can write on your walls makes pretty designs with color chalks i've seen it done and it looks AMAZING!

Depends on what is black and what is white.  I would paint three walls black and the fourth burnt orange and white stripes, (vertical and quite wide),  add a burnt orange shaggy rug. Then a mixture of black, white and burnt orange cushions, and one bright turquoise cushion,  everything else white.  

Lighting would be very important in a room like this......

2 white walls |_  <--  those ones and the other two black. and on the white walls, thick black frames around mirrors. just get 2 or 3 of the same ones and put them together somewhere on the wall with a small gap between em. then on the black, do the same but white frames. and maybe a black and white patterend curtain. like either like a japanese floral design or waves going down the curtain. make sure to get a black or white or YINGYANG rug for the room!!!

Paint 3 walls white, and one wall (accent wall) black.  On the black wall...hang photos or paintings that have white frames, and on white walls...ang photos or paintings in black frames.  For a pop of color...use red pillows, red candles, red glass knicknacks.  

Another idea for a TOTALLY black and white room would be to do 2 walls white and 2 walls black...then do swirl designs (white on black...black on white).  Accent with black and white pillows, candles and vases

What do you mean by black and white? Are the walls white and the floor black?

Contrary to popular belief, really dark colors do not make your room look small.  They have the same effect as really light colors, your eye just receded into them.  One of my favorite rooms I did for a client had black walls and wide white trim.  Don't be scared.

If you are not painting or anything just accessorize with one of your favorite colors.  The good thing is that you have a blank canvas and can make it look however you want.  Maybe go to some home goods stores and find a patterned pillow or drapes that you love and pick colors out of them for other accessories.  The same can be done with artwork.

It really depends on your style and the look you want to achieve.  If you don't know what your favorite colors are, look at the clothes in your closet. This is a great way to help you figure out what colors you seem to be drawn to.

Paint your whole room white & open the windows or just put the curtains aside it is white & light all around. Drop the curtains & close the windows it is black.

If you want both which is case in majority.just paint the whole room black  along with floor & roof with a small window you shall get the feel or put on the dark glasses with one spect black one transparent that shall also do

Black and white are OK, but then don't add too much color if any. A little red is OK, some green plants, since they seem to need this color, but not too much. Once you go that route there's not compromise, in my opinion. OK, some wood tones would break it up- but only furniture, honey colored stuff, like a maple floor. OK, if you must , a Persian throw, but don't get too happy here. Stainless  steel, polished to a high sheen, but only ornamental, i.e. some kinetic sculpture and plenty of good, low voltage lighting,don't scrimp here, if you must resort to IKEA don't leave any of their ephemera lying around like low rent pornography, for God's sakes.
