  1. Black Walnut.  Ancient and beautiful.  Tulip Poplar, some near 150ft.  Have you ever had Tulip Poplar honey?

  2. We certainly can't match that! We have a little copse of woods, largely the spruce and fir that were spared the infamous pine beetle attacks in British Columbia of the past decade. We lost 37 pine trees so what remains, yes, is small but a natural wonder for us each day when we amble about looking at the survivors.

  3. That is awesome. the only interesting things I have found in my yard is a sole gravestone of a guy who died in 1844, and we were visited by a gorgeous Pileated woodpecker last summer. He was breathtaking!   We also have a natural colony of honey bees in one of the 100+ year old maples out front.  They pollinate our apple and pear heritage trees.

The thing I really wish we had here was some kind of stream, the sound of running water can't be beat!

Do you have a website w/ pictures?

  4. You mean, aside from me?
