My daughter who is 9 is about to be screened for dyslexia. Does anyone have any information of what this entails and what a diagnosis actually consists of.

  1. http://www.dyslexia-test.co.uk/

  2. Allen 555 has supplied the best site with information on the test and what it involves.

There are a lot of really good sites with information for dyslexics and their parents.  I knew very little about it before my sons diagnosis, so I have included some sites for you.

It was the best day when he was finally diagnosed as he finally had a reason to explain why he could not read and write as well as his classmates, before this he had convinced himself that he was just stupid.

At ten he could barely read and write yet with the right help he went on to complete his education getting three A levels including English.

    Good luck

  3. I don't know.  How is that relevant?  She needs to be able to read, so rather they should be giving her a reading assessment to help find out her reading level and then develop approaches to help her learn to read.
