Do you have any recommendations for things to do in Cozumel from October 7 through the 13?

We'll be there on our honeymoon, so we don't need to do much of anything else, but just wanted to see what you would recommend. We are staying at an all inclusive resort, but restaurant recommendations would be greatly appreciated too.

Thanks!!!

  1. I just returned from Cozumel Mexico and have some suggestions.

#1.  Scuba Diving:  This is one of the best places in the world for Scuba Diving, so if you've ever thought about trying it, do your in-class at home so you can do your certification dives down south.  It is absolutely spectacular!  This is like snorkling 1000 times better.

#2.  Rent a Jeep:  Drive around the island (there is only one road that goes all the way around) and visit "Coconuts".  It's a restaurant/bar located on the east side of the island (all the resorts and town are on the west side) and is on the highest part of Cozumel.  It's very relaxing and definately worth a visit.

#3.  San Gervasio:  These are Mayan Ruin's located on Cozumel.  You don't have to book a tour, you can go there if you rent a Jeep, pay to enter and they give you a guide that tells you everything.  It is said that every Mayan woman had to travel to Cozumel and make an offering at San Gervasio for fertility.

#4.  Restaurants to go to:  La Choza for authentic, good mexican/mayan food.  La Cabana de Pescador for Lobster.

If you are staying at either the Iberostar or the Grand Occidental, walk down the beach to Alberto's (2 minute walk).  He makes amazing seafood.

  2. We really liked the food at Prima Pasta Seafood & Pizza Trattoria.

We rented a jeep and toured the island. The East side is very different than the west side of island. It has more surf and riptides but the photo opprotunities are worth the visit. Some very interesting bars on that side. Coconuts and Mezcalito's. Chen Rio has a great beach (not sure if Wilma detroyed this beach)but it's worth checking out.

Bring a t-shirt from your home state and donate to Coconuts for their wall.

I think Chankanaab National Park is worth a visit.

    Enjoy your honeymoon and Congratulations.)

  3. They have different excursions you can sign up for!!  I did the snorkeling one.  It was like $150 a person, but they picked you up at the hotel and lunch was included...they took you to three different places...including a cave which was awesome!!  They even take your picture inside the cave and have them printed out at the end of the excursion.  Your hotel should have a desk where you can make the plans and pay for these extra day trips!  They're definitely worth it!!  I'm jealous!!  Have a great trip and congrats on the honeymoon!!  =)
