I discovered by accident yesterday that crystallized ginger slices go well in herbal tea. Do you have any more tips?

  1. there's a natural sugar called sweete. You can check it online.. Brown sugar is ok if you use a little bit... Natural honey. bd

  2. Yes, there is a fruit making the chic foodie rounds that they are calling Miracle Fruit.  Eating just a tiny slice of this fruit will turn anything sour that you eat in the next two to four hours into something sweet.  For example, fresh, raw lemon tastes like sweetened lemonade.

Much research was done into using this fruit in sugar-free foods in the 60's, but it was abandoned for something manufactured that could be trademarked (and, gives you cancer!)

Be warned, the stuff is crazy expensive, unless you know a source or can grow it yourself.  By itself, it has very little flavor.

  3. Powdered Cayenne Pepper and fresh hot peppers contain capzasin, a powerful agent in reducing arthritis symptoms

Garlic has many antibiotic properties and is thought to contain antioxidants helpful in fighting certain cancers.

Turmeric is thought to be helpful in reducing cancer risk.

To make something taste Mexican or Tex Mex, add cumin and chili powder.

For Indian or North African, use coriander, cumin, ginger, garlic, chili powder

Sorry, I don't know much about sugars though.  I've always been one for savory and almost never sweet.

  4. Yes. A little paprika and black pepper on scrambled tofu is

    a m a z i n g! :)
