Do you have any tips for cooling down a room?

Sitting here in my room the temperature seems to be about the same as on the surface of the sun (maybe a slight exaggeration but I'm sweating like.....well, something very sweaty). I live in Japan and my girlfriend has taken the room with the air conditioner so my music studio (which I am now dripping sweat on the floor of) is more than uncomfortable to sit in. Do you have any ways to cool it down until I get chance to go out and invest in a fan?

  1. Wow Japan! I love Japan. Leave the door open when possible to let a breeze in, and have some bowls of ice dotted around to cool the air.

  2. Loose clothing, and wrap ice packs and soaked frozen towels around your head and neck: That's what I did a few summers when I didn't have an AC and the daytime temperatures were around 100 Fahrenheit- No exaggeration! I actually managed to stay almost comfortable.

  3. Airconditioning would be the obvious answer

Try poor-mans AC by blowing a fan over some ice

  4. Open the windows and put ice in a ziplock bag

  5. Close all of the blinds and curtains.  Make sure there is weatherstripping around the doors and windows. (Very inexpensive)

  6. Take all your clothes off :(

  7. No, you could cool you, like cold shower though,

Personally I'd be in the AC with my GF
