I really want to walk the talk and do a better job in keeping our world in a healthy condition. I'd like to get my two kids involved. Any tips/ideas on what I can do that aren't very expensive or free?

Thanks!

  1. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports, we must reduce the worldwide output of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas to less than 10% (one tenth) of what that output is today.

The only way to achieve a reduction of that size is to impose a world wide ban on the use of all fossil fuels.

That means a world wide ban on the use of all gasoline and diesel fuels and heating oils.

Also a world wide ban on the use of all coal and natural gas.

We must ban the use of fossil fuels for the generation of electricity.

If we are not willing to do that on a worldwide basis we have no hope of stopping the man made component of Global Warming.

  2. Sure look a little more carefully at everything you buy! Maybe look at indgredients and only buy stuff that doesn't harm the earth. 4. Recycle cans, plastic, paper, batteries.

Switch to fluorescents - They're cheap and long-lasting.

    Cut down on water use.

    Buy things that are recycled.

Avoid sharp braking and acceleration to slightly increase your gas mileage.

  5. 1. recycle! i work for a recycling company :D (cans,paper,plastic,cardboard,electronic... can all be recycled)

    2. reduce your trash and buy things that are biodegradable

    3. buying organic foods helps support the organic community

    4. avoid foods that are genetically altered and hormone treated milk\meat

    5. buy items that are recycled or have recycled packaging

    6. Support the legalization of industrial hemp(if we grew hemp instead of all the products made from deforestation we would never have to cut down another tree) hemp per acre extracts 4x greater fiber than an acre of trees and takes 100 days to grow as opposed to 10-50 years for trees. also hemp plastic is biodegradable, hemp fuel is less toxic for the environment

  6. Just Recycle More.

  7. You can start by replacing all your lightbulbs at home.

  8. I would start with Planet Earth and Blue Planet from BBC. This will give them an eye into the world, so when you go places they can see beyond the sights. Get them into Geography. Teach them that we can do these things because we recycle, we love our home earth. We want to cleanup the mess that was made in the past. We want to see electric cars, electric trains, and electric planes. We want our government to help us get this right. Teach them to be free and think for themselves.

    Have fun
