Do you have any tips on how to train for running?

Kay. For volleyball. My coach every year wants us to run around the school 3 times in 9 minutes. Last year i was soo exhasted. Do you have any tips on running for 9 mins with out getting exhasted easily? and yes were allowed to walk.

  1. The best thing is, even though you are allowed to walk DON'T!

    Walking will make your body tell you that I'm tired now so stop, but if you keep running though that {I'm tired} feeling, sooner or later you can run another 9 minutes. Make sure your not trying to run to fast, just keep a paste that is best for you, stay relaxed and make sure that you breath right {in your nose out your mouth}. strecth those legs out don't keep them close together taking baby steps.

    It always helped me to find a rhythm and just run to it, talking and laughing while running will not help you at all, it will only make you tired.

    Doing the stairs is great, at home just stand up and lift your body weight on the balls of your feet that way when you go up the stairs your legs will be stronger and able to handle the pain. Do this 50 times a day, and even if there is a day when you don't have practice do what you would be doing at home, that way your body will be use to it.

  2. just try and get out and run as frequently as you can, i'd say jogging  maybe 10 or 15 minutes to start with will help raise that if you feel comfortable the further you run the less the 9 minutes will feel like at volleyball

  3. well a track is 400 meters around, so that's nt terribly far.

    running up stairs is so bad for your legs, but running up them is a good way to strenghten them.

    you could run for 20-30 minutes each day on your own, that would help your endurance.  

  4. just start training by going for brisk jogs a few times a week. and if you can, i'd go to the school some evenings and run around it, just so u get used to it.  keep doing your 3 lap run by yourself until you can do it without stopping or walking in 9 minutes.

  5. you coach is an idiot. Stairs are very bad for your knees.

    You should run everyday if you dont want to get exhausted
