  1. #1 most important thing to do is to cite your sources!!  Professors/TA's will fail you and send you to judicial affairs if they find that you didn't cite properly even if it was an accident.

Other than that, check your spelling and grammar e.g. punctuation, tense, etc.  In your papers, make sure your ideas and thesis statement are clear and not vague.  Get straight to the point, don't meddle around.  Do not use words incorrectly, so unless you know that big word is being used correctly, find a different word to use.

Try to keep your sentences in active form rather than passive and avoid using first person unless the prompt specifically asks for your opinion/thoughts/research etc.

Make sure the whole paper flows, so proofread and re-check your paper to make sure your paragraphs and ideas flow and connect.

    Good luck!

  2. Most professors ask for a cover page, double space essay, reference -bibliography- if required, and sometimes, rarely, footnotes. Always read and re-read your rough draft, and finally with the hard copy have it proof read by a writing center.

  3. Use a higher vocabulary, but only use words you are comfortable with. Finding some big word and trying to use it never works.

Use a variety of sentences: Use simple sentences and complex sentences. Use short sentences, medium length sentences, and some long sentences. Focus on medium length sentences.

Use an outline when writing something longer than 1 paragraph so that your ideas flow.

    Spell correctly.

Say things in the simplest terms possible. Don't put in a ton of fluff in order to get a complex sentence. Keep it meaty with information.

Don't ever ramble. Make sure you proofread your work so that you keep on track and have a very focused paper.

There's some tips that I can think of right now... hope they helped!

  4. you need to think clearly and understand what you want to say, and who you want to say it to.

You don't need to know right away how to say it. But you need to get a clear idea in your head of what are the things you want to say. If it's too fuzzy to think what you want to say, then you need to spend more time thinking about what you want to say.

You can't transcribe you're thoughts into written form, if you can not properly organize enough what it is in your head that you are thinking.

  5. USE HIGH VOCABULARY, ALWAYS CHECK GRAMMER, spelling, puntuation and all that sorta stuff. write in full paragraphs, neat handwriting, write in drafts, check ur mistake then write in final drafts.

    etc.
