My husband's step-dad just found out that he has cancer. His family wants to have a benefit to help somewhat offset the cost of everything. Any ideas or tips that anyone has would be very helpful. We have just over a month to plan for this.

  1. well, depending on where u live.....maybe u could do a bake sale, if theres enough help.....a talent contest----advertise local( so it dont get too big--), or ask some vendes( local stores around to offer thing for u 2 have a bennifit auction

  2. This weekend I attended a benefit for my brother who has cancer held by a group in my town. It was absolutely amazing. I would suggestion doing what they did.

They went to local business and asked for donations for prizes and held a silent auction. They also held a live auction for any big (expensive) items that were donated.

They did have a "pie off" they asked people to bake the best pies the could and auctioned them off live (some went for over $300 each).

Also, bring out the BBQ and sell hot dogs and hamburgers ( have done this for many benefits over the years and its a pretty easy way to raise some money).

If you need any other suggestions feel free to contact me, I have organized a lot of fundraisers over the years.
