  1. I like both Tottenham and Liverpool, and I have great faith in both squads even if Liverpool dont get barry  I think Keane is enough, and I am almost positive the hotspurs will get at least one other quality player. So yes I predicate Liverpool finish 1st Tottenham 4th

  2. Yeah some good signings , kapo, de ridder, zaki, cattermole and figueroa. need some more cover at the back tho. hopefully we get bullard back

  3. atfer all this rubbish with ronaldo, part of me thinks we may be better off without him.

there are so many uneducated people out there that think united are nothing without ronaldo, and the players will know this. it will give them extra incentive to prove many people wrong about united being a one man team. similar to how arsenal reacted when henry left.

also if ronaldo wants to go to real madrid so much, he'll be unhappy at united... an unhappy ronaldo won't be nearly as good as the ronaldo we saw last year.

anyway to answer your question quickly, i'm VERY confident in our squad.

  4. I'm quietly optimistic

  5. As long as Robinho stays then yes.

  6. Obviously a little bit of strengthening never hurt anybody, but overall I'm very happy with Liverpool's current squad. We could do with a winger, either side would do as we have Ryan Babel who can play either side...but other than that we're very Strong in all areas. Even as a Manchester United fan, when I list our players I'm sure you'd agree we do have a very strong squad:

    Reina

    Finnan

    Arbeloa

    Degen

    Carragher

    Skrtel

    Agger

    Hyypia

    Dossena

    Aurelio

    Insua

    Pennant

    Kuyt

    Benayoun

    Mascherano

    Plessis

    Leiva

    Alonso

    Pacheco

    Gerrard

    Babel

    Torres

    Voronin

    Keane

    N'Gog

Looking at that, I see no major problems anywhere on the field, injuries or no injuries. Even with Mascherano and Babel at the Olympics at the start of the season we have more than enough cover to compensate.

I fully believe this squad, along with perhaps one final purchase of a winger, is easily good enough to challenge on all fronts.

  7. I have every confidence in my team!

  8. Yes i do now that we have keane up front with Torres . I could see Ronaldo leaving united before the start of the season

  9. Not yet, however with a new manager surely we have some hope. Hes dutch too and the national squad played well in the Euro's so hopefully their style of play may rub off on my team.

We have lost a few during the Summer, signed only free's, so its not looking good....but when your a SAINT you have to be optimistic, so I'm not giving up on my team. COYR

  10. I'm quite confident, we now have Klinsmann coming out to coach the team, a great bunch of talented players, should be a great season!

    fc bayern munich 08-09 (:

  11. Absolute confidence!

But Man Utd does not need only a striker but also a RB! what happens if Brown get injured? will Neville Be able to substitiute him completely? Will Danny Simpson be able to play well?

  12. of course i have confidence in our team!

would like to see a new striker though

at least we will have a quality backup for that position should rooney or tevez gets injured.

    *touchwood*

  13. I dont support any particular club

So I'll give analysis on all top four clubs

    ARSENAL - moderate 2.5/10

Losses of Flamini and Silva will hurt the team

Nasri and Ramsey are unproven at the highest level

Worse, Gallas is still the captain

Much will depend on Cesc and RVP

    Strengthen defensive midfield and striker

    CHELSEA - good 4/5

On paper looking the strongest in terms of each player's abilities

Loss of Makelele and other players will soon be forgotten

Deco and Bosingwa, with Scolari will create Portugal-connection at the club

The new coach will bring stability has been missing since Jose leaves

    Strengthen nothing

    LIVERPOOL - fairly good 3.5/5

    Most key players remain

Keane will combine with Torres to form the most fearsome striking partnership

Failure to get Barry might hurt during the latter stages of the season

    Strengthen midifield

    UNITED - moderate 3/5

On paper looking the most well-balanced

But Ronaldo's transfer saga might have destabilised the team

Some players will not like his antics of I-want-to-leave

Queiroz' departure might hurt even further

    Strengthen defence and striker

  14. I think with Man United we need at least one more player.we have Ronaldo out up til october and will possibly lack the fire power, but i dont want us to sign Berbatov as in some games he just cant be arsed and that was most of last season just becuase he didnt get his own way. I would like to see someone such as Karim Benzema or even Thierry Henry as he has been recently mentioned, just someone that we can use as an out an out striker and goalscorer. But it wouldnt be the end of the world if we sign Berbatov which will look more likely if Tottenham sign Arshavin and Pavlyuchenko which will probably set them back around 40m, but i dont want us to sign him for more than £28 million !

Either way though Chelsea haven't significanlty strengthed unless you count Bosingwa as a title winning player, so i have every bit of confidence in United winning the league and with an extrta bit of fire power who knows the treble or even quadruple could be our target !

  15. i'm an Evertonian and at the minute i have no confidence in my squad.

  16. I'd like to strengthen our defence. Some defenders have gone to other clubs and we haven't replaced them. We need something doing about it. Birmingham City that is by the way.

  17. spurs and totally......

  18. being a spurs fan im happy with the signings so far and its a bonus to have players like Bale , BAE comming back form long term injurys.

Downside is that i feel we need at least a CB and DMC, not sure sure King & Woodgate can stay fit throughout the season and im still not Dawsons biggest fan.  As for  a defensive midfielder, sure huddlestones promising but zokora scares me at times.

Berbatov, well i wasnt sure that letting him go would be a good idea, but Bents form in the last 2 games  (7goals in 2 friendlys) reasures me that given a run in the team he will come up with the goods.

Also, these 2 russians we are linked with, did anybody know of them before Euro 08? i had never heard of them.

  19. I'm a Saints fan. We got some youngster for 1.2M in and he looks brilliant. But were edging ever closer to administration and were  making massive loses. We were using our best midfielder at left back last season and we still haven't bought a left back, we don't have a good right back anywhere either. We've lost viafara today and he was important in midfield for us. Our strikers aren't bad.

But sadly I think its going to be a sad mid-table or relegation season. Unless we go into administration because then there won't be a battle, we'll definately be relegated.

    Isn't football just great.

  20. Barca have the best team in the world for now.

  21. of course i do have faith in my team

we have great players  in our squad and a great manager

just hope that arsene wenger will utilise his players in a way that this season is going to be as successful as we hope it to be

  22. not happy with my team at the moment but if we sign some players soon it should give me some hope

  23. I have faith that Celtic FC will make it 4 in a row.

  24. Yeah I'm a little more confident than last season. The addition of another proven striker is the main reason, and also the fact that Liverpool have managed to stay out of the media circus more than last season (no off the pitch dramas eg. squables over transfer funds or George and Tom feuding).

  25. Very happy with the club as is...would like another "finishing" striker though. Perhaps next year.

  26. Yeah we have a quality strike force for the first time since Fowler left (the first time) i think mascherano will be as good as ever the defence is looking good now with agger skrtel and carragher quality keeper Gerrard and babel i am not sure about this dosena and degan yet but time will tell. So maybe we could do with a left and right defender but don t know yet.

We have some decent youth coming through now with nemeth, Pacheco, spearing and plessis and our new lad ngog. Not saying we will win the league but I think there will be a bigger challenge coming from the pool.

  27. Same with you Deano, i think he's definitely staying but i'm not sure about his recovery, how long will it take to regain his form? The lad has, in the past, seemed superhuman so maybe he will prove to be a quick healer etc and get his derrière into gear and hopefully repay us for the utter c**p he has put us through. We have some good prospects with Manucho, Campbell, Pettruci, Foster, the Samba twins etc etc, whether they start or not is another story altogether....

  28. Of Course!
