  1. In the US most adoptions are finalized in a county. The county courthouse would have the records, but the majority of US states do not have open records. Some agencies and lawyers kept copies of these records but they generally will not release them.

  2. To legally get them you need to go through the Court house where whomever was adopted to get those.

You have to file for them.

  3. Adoption records are head at the vital records department for the state which you live as well as the agency that handled the adoption.

If you are searching for an adoptee or birth parents use this side for information.

    Good luck

  4. sorry....confused OBC's for adoption RECORDS. my bad.

in most states the adoption records are also sealed from the adoptee. But alot of first parents and adoptive parents still have them.

If the adoption was from an agency they should have all records on file. I don't really know much about how to access them, maybe call, write for, request, demand?
