where to buy olympic tickets for london olympics 2012, accomodations, travel guide?

what does it mean if you have olympic tickets? does it mean you can watch all the games? or its just an entrance ticket and there will be additional tickets for the games to watch? does it include accomodations?

First off, Olympic tickets really aren't as expensive as everybody thinks. London has said that they estimate 5 million of the near 8 million tickets will be less than $100...but they won't be on sale until 2011 and England gets first dibs on tickets because they're hosting the Olympics.

You have to purchase tickets for the events you want to see. The most expensive are opening and closing ceremony which will probably be at most $1,600. So if you want to see, say, the women's swimming 100m butterfly final you have to buy the specific ticket for that event.

The best way to find out where to buy tickets is to go on the official site for the London 2012 Olympics. I don't think they have that information up just yet but they will in a year or so. In the UK, you can probably get them right off the site but in the US it's more likely that you have to purchase them off a separate site the LOCOG has designated.

As far as accommodations go, London has promised free travel to Olympic park with the ticket. They're encouraging people to use public transportation. Hotel rooms are something you have to do on your own. And honestly, if you're planning to stay all 16 days of the Olympics, getting a room will probably be the most expensive part.

You can get packages off some travel sites that include hotels, airfare, and tickets but I've heard that they're rip offs. The tickets aren't that great and the prices are outrageous. So if you're planning to go to the 2012 Olympics (I know I am) the Olympic tickets are probably the easiest part.

A ticket is for one sport at a certain time and included nothing else.

You can not buy any tickets for London.... You will not be able to buy any for at least 2 maybe 3 years. Start saving.
