  1. I do this thing,  I save two bucks a day, so usually around $60 a month, put it in a completely different bank account from your normal one, preferably one that is kinda outta your way.  Do not get a debit card or checks for it or put it into a savings account like an ING one, those ones are good, and no penalties for withdrawling for emergencies.  Or you could put them in CDs, but you get penalties for withdrawling early.

  2. Yes, I do have money that I don't touch. I had the same problem as you and a husband that loves shopping too.

What I did was open a savings with a check book instead of atm card. So now if I want to withdraw money from my savings, I think two times just because I don't want to get in that line. Second, you have to think about what if an emergency arrises and you dont have no funds. What are you going to do? Try to start of by saving 5 to 10 dollars. You have to take increment steps.

    You can do it.

  3. Yes, but it's the first time in my life I can really say that.  However, it's not like a retirement savings account, or just savings for a "rainy day"- it is a fund for my upcoming wedding next year, so every time I'm tempted to touch it, I think about having to scale back on the wedding plans, and I change my mind about hitting the bank, LOL.

One really easy way to start saving money without touching it is to set up your direct deposit at work so that a certain amount each paycheck automatically goes right to your savings.  Since you never really see it, you won't miss it, and you'll actually even forget you have it sometimes.  I've never been good at saving, and this works for me.

  4. stick it in the bank, it grows little by little, so just think that ur getting more money for not touching your money.

  5. I SAVED $350. I AM 13 AND I JUST TRY TO RESIST THE TEMPTATION OF SWIPING AND WITHDRAWING.

IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE SAVING THE EASIEST WAY TO SAVE IS BY COLLECT YOUR COINS IN A JAR.

I AM GROWING UP IN AN ENVIRONMENT WERE I DON'T GET AS MUCH AS MY BROTHER'S AND SISTERS BUT I TRY NOT TO GIVE IN BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN DENIED A LOT.

  6. No Im a working person who has nothing extra.

  7. Quite the opposite actually. I actually saved up about a couple of hundreds and they went down the sink when I had to pay out of pocket money for school tuition and credit card bills. Hopefully within the next month or so, I can start saving again. I'm a shopaholic so it makes sense that I can't save money, but I'm definitely trying and will do. :)

  8. yes!..worked my **** off to save some..now feel like blowing some of it on europe trip

  9. Yup, but I have few material needs so it's easy for me.  Do all the things you buy make you happy, I mean for longer than a week or so?
