  1. Nope! I pay mine through my bank instead of going to the individual accounts to make each individual payment. The real cool thing is that I can tell my bank what day I want the bill(s) to be paid and I can have some of those bills if they are the same every month to start recurring. It also helps because if I automate thru the bank instead of the vendors I can keep track of money coming out whereas thru the vendor I might forget they are taking some money out which throws me off a bit. My bank also offers to pay late fees if they fail to pay the bills by the authorized payment date. So far none of my bills have been late.

  2. I have had great luck with online bill paying.  It varies from company to company.  Just don't forget to follow through with the entire transaction.  Sometimes people forget to press that submit button and then you have late fees or worse!

  3. I don't trust going thru individual sites to pay bills online.  You have no control over the transactions.

It is much smarter to use online billpay thru your own bank account.  Most larger banks offer it for free.  You can schedule payment of all your bills in advance and set up recurring payments for things like mortgage and car payments.  Yet you have complete control to cancel or change the transaction up to a couple days before the pay date.

I've used online billpay thru my bank for the past 10 years and love it.  Never had a single problem.  My brothers have been using it much longer.  It took awhile for them to convince me it was safe.
