Do you have proof that Jesus is not God?

Question

I am Muslim, I don't have the Bible anymore I gave it away.

I have a friend that says that I am lying and that there is no proof that Jesus is not the son of God and no proof that he is not God. I would prove it to him straight from the Bible but like I said, I gave it away.

He is urging that he wants to see it.

I Google it and it brought nothing related to it.

If you can give me all the proof so that and where the quote can be found in the Bible, I would be so greatful

How can you have proof for something that didn't happen? You have to give evidence in order to prove something exists, not the other way around. lol.

Why am I getting thumbs down? I said that Jesus was not the son of God, You can't prove that he wasn't because such a proof does not exist. Proof is usually needed to prove something did happen. You can't have proof of something that never happened. ex. jesus being son of God.

If you are a muslim don't you believe that the bible is corrupted? So why would you want to use that book as the basis for your argument? Makes no sense eh?

1. Well there is no proof that Jesus IS God.

2. It make no logical sense for God to turn Himself into a mere human being.

3. How can Jesus be God, the son of God and this holy ghost business, all at the same time?

4. Jesus supposedly died for all of mankind's sins. So then why does Jesus preach us to do good? If all of our sins are forgiven, then why should we bother doing anything good? We can sin all we want, and nothing will happen to us! Then what is the point of h**l I wonder?

Now tell me, would the Prophet of God do something like that? Do something so horrendous (if it were even possible) as to die for all of our sins, only so we can wreak havoc upon the world, knowing that nothing can hold us back from doing what we want now?

i am sure there is no place in the Bible that says Jesus is not God and he's not the son of God.. the entire Bible is like riddles you have to dig beneath the surface, every word Jesus has spoken is a mystery that you need to solve.. i am a christian and i believe Jesus is the son of God and he is God.. and all that talk about if he was then why didn't he save himself and not die on that cross? or how did God let his son be tortured by humans? well that was the point of the whole thing.. God loved humans so much that he sent his own son as a sacrifice to erase our first sin..

- JESUS NOT GOD BY OMISSION?

It's said in the bible that Jesus was "SENT BY GOD".  This makes him no different than Mohummud.  (A Prophet). Jesus NEVER says that he is GOD or the SON OF GOD anywhere in the bible. Others call him the Messiah and LORD, but Jesus never does himself.

For Reference, This is the closest that he says he is GOD in the bible.  You can use this as proof of NOT being GOD by his omission of coming right out and saying "I AM GOD"  I suppose when he had the chance.  This is the best I can do.

His disciples asked Him why He taught in parables. His answer was:

"And He answered and said to them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. For whoever has, to him shall more be given, and he shall have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. 40 shows only god can ressurect someone and 41 shows god isn't jesus.  

Another thing to maybe look for is in the garden he prayed to god to be saved until his forehead started to bleed.   Who prays that much unless they are really scared.  Why would god be scared?  And if he was god, why was he even praying to god.   And if the whole point was for him to die on the cross for people's sins, why did he pray to be saved.

The question is , Was he talking to himself ? or He was seeking help from a second God more powerful than himself ?

You can find plenty of verses in the bible proving Jesus was a man not a God.  Jesus divinity was introduced by those who had never met him when he was walking on earth , like Paul the Apostle .

I too will give you my opinion as per logic.

First, Muhammad K. has put the point very well, and as well as some other users. The point is that we cannot really refer to the Bible in totality. It is written by men who were neither God, nor prophets nor messengers. Even if one claims that the Holy spirit descended upon them and they wrote the book. Then the hypothesis is very weak. The question is that this did not happen to any of the people in the past e.g. every prophet wrote the book / scripture himself. Then why did Jesus and God leave this task to men, if it was that important.

Secondly, the NUMEROUS contradictions within the NT itself, is a manifestation that it is the work of creatures and not of the divine (Holy spirit, if you wish to call it that way).

Now let us look at a few other things that must be considered as FUNDAMENTAL BASICS to God.

1-  God is eternal. He existed before the times and is everlasting.

Remark-1:  Jesus fails the test. He was born and also died. Even if we buy the argument of Bible that he was brought back to life (to be lifted to heaven). Even then, you would agree that the work was of God and not a power of Jesus, himself.

2-  God cannot be killed or cannot die:

Remark-2:  Jesus got killed and died.

3-  God created everything. Even the food that we eat, is created by God. And God does NOT need any food. He feeds and is the one who is NOT fed.

Remark-3:  Jesus fails this test. He was human, and was dependent on food, water and air.

4-  If God wishes to kill or annihilate ANYONE. There is NONE that can stand or prevent his will.

Remark-4:  Jesus could not save to get crucified, at the hands of powerless people. How can he save himself from being annihilated, if God, ever decides to annihilate him and his mother and anyone else.

5-  God punished the nations that transgressed.

Remark-5:   Jesus could not punish even the people who persecuted his followers.

6-  God's does not go to sleep. He does not need rest.

Remark-6:  Jesus needed both e.g. sleep and rest.

7-  God does not age.

Remark-7:  Jesus was a child then he grew young. Had he lived longer, he would have grown Old and ultimately died. He could not prevent anything from happening to him (as per the physical laws set by God).

8-  God does not fear anyone. Of course All power belongs to him. And none can dare to speak in front of him UNLESS he permits. He is awesome.

Remark-8:  Jesus has NONE of these abilities.

9-  God is the ONLY creator. He is NOT the created or a creature.

Remark-10:  Jesus is a creature. He has been created by God.

Consequently, Jesus does not meet a SINGLE criteria for God.

It is clear why you want to find proof that Jesus is not God. You are Muslim. Being Christian, I am trying to find proof that He is God.

However,

The question is what kind of God. Even Christians are not in agreement about it. You will not find anywhere in the Bible (New Testament) that He is not. There is a place in the New Testament: Jesus's discilpes are asking Jesus what is the Father like. Jesus answers: whoever has seen me, has seen the Father also.

Very tricky isn't it? because here we have another question - Who is the Father - God? Then what is God?

That is why it is very difficult to argue and require proof about spiritual things. You can retrieve your Bible and find the place which according to you says that Jesus is not God (I don't recall any place which explicidely says so, but who knows which version you have) but others will be able to show many places that contradict it + Bible is a living word - it does not mean only one thing, it has many angles.  

Suggestion: you will not find any physical evidence or proof for Jesus being God, or not being God. Religion is spiritual. We will have evidence when we die only. Be patient, take your time, there is no rush.
