  1. no,we get promised them to get votes.

  2. We have been betrayed by Brown on this one, I for one can accept whatever result the promised referendum came up with,  What I cant accept is a party clearly reneging on a promise to the electorate as this shame full Gov't have done.  I hope it is remembered at the next election

  3. Yes we do - but only if Gordon Brown thinks he can win.

  4. Referendum on whether or not to adopt the parliamentary form of government.

  5. Usually, in the States, referendums are offered at the state or local level, not the national.  Depending on the state, they could be for forming a new taxing body, such as a fire district, passing a constitutional amendment, or a host of other things depending on where you live.

  6. Never allowed them in England,

    Although we where promised one.

  7. Only if the answer is the one the government wants to hear

  8. Are you trying to wind us up? if so, I take offence with this question.

  9. Most referendums in our State/County are for SCHOOLS.  Yes we vote for them.  I don't have children in school and it seems that every few years we are giving the schools MORE and MORE money and things keep getting worse.  I think it is time for the Schools to Straighten OUT.  But of course eveyone with KIDS votes for the MILLIONS of DOLLARS in Taxes for Schools.  I can't stand it.  We have the chance to vote for all of them.  And unfortunately they usually PASS.  And TAXES go UP & UP & UP.
