Question:

Do you have to Yield driving out of a court?

We live in a neighborhood that has 3 courts, (dead ends with homes) Coming out of each court people drive through a "T" crossing the court. There are no yield signs or stop signs, saying what do do. To me it is just common sense to "yield". Either way, I personally witness 2 to 3 near accidents a week.

What is the law on this. I live in California, but find nothing specificly addressing this kind of problem.

  1. The law states, when approaching any intersection or roadway without signs and or signals, slow down and look both ways before entering the intersection and or roadway.

  2. You must yeild the right-of-way on any of the roads, not just the "court", or cul de sac.  Unless there is a stop sign, all must yeild, but you are correct when you say that you use common sense.  Look and be a defensive driver.  Don't trust anyone.
